I think cisse has the potential to be better than owen, he is faster and gets into good positions but cannot finish. He has scored 6 goals allready this season, Ok i know they were mostly in CL qualifiers but they still count.

we have only had a 2 prem games only time will tell. he gets him self in load ov goal scorin opitunitys. just feel iv he lernt how to place the ball ur chip the keeper instead ov blastin it at the goal he will score alot more. but this lad could scare the :censored:

out ov the prem this seasson :buttrock

i firmly believe that the guy has the potential to be awesome, coupled with the fact that Cisse has fantastic drive and attitude - i cannot see him failing!
Better than Owen? i hope he will be!! :grinning:

I could blow you out of the water with this and talk all about Michaels qualities and Cisses shortcomings....BUT I WONT !
Cisse has so much potential and with a bit of fine tuning could be absolutely devastating.
I agree with the last post about using different types of finish, he can tend to go for the blasted finish too often.
But he takes up some great positions and is far quicker than Owen now.
I say get Rushie working on his movement and finishing for a few months and we could have a world beater.

Newcastle will be fighting for safety this year, they wont get in europe. Souness is a rubbish manager.

I think the main thing that Cisse lacks is composure when infront of goal, his positioning is fantastic, he has the postential to be as good as Owen and maybe better but only time will tell.

Owen was better....but that was a good few years back.Cisse is much the better option for Liverpool now and the future;and it's no surprise to me that Rafa,along with every other top coach/manager,didn't fancy signing Owen.Only the desperate Souness was prepared to take the massive gamble.

Its a good point ss, it is strange that none of the top coaches went for him...especially wenger when Arsenal have been desperate for a goalscorer to partner Henry...they cant ALL be wrong.
But all that matters is that Cisse plays for LFC Owen doesnt so i am made up we have got Cisse at our club...and now Owen has gone elsewhere AGAIN...i dont give a sh@i about him...or how he does now.

cisse is not in the same league as owen. owen can do all the things that cisse can only better.

it really bugs me when people say that cisse has "potential". for gods sake the guys 24 years old. he's not a kid anymore. when owen was 24, he'd been european footballer of the year, had played and scored in two world cups, and had already scored 30 odd goals for his country.

there is no comparison.

Maybe if Cisse didnt have that horrific injury last year, people wouldnt be using the word 'potential' as much......the kids had to start all over again......

potential means nothing, remember everyone talking about heskey's potential. potential is a polite way of saying that right now your not that good.

Owen came on the scene at 17 and banged in goals without needing time to adjust and all that rubbish.

Owen is definately better than Cisse. Will Cisse improve - nobody knows, but he is not the player who guys on this site were raving about, sending videos of goals from france etc.

Hold up SS, I know you dislike Owen but lets get the facts right, Rafa has publicly said he was trying to sign Owen right up to the last minute .

Imo Owen at present is the better player ,but as many have said ,Cisse has the potential to be just as good.
