Tottenham v liverpool - Our next game and an important one

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

i can see us losing this, it wouldnt be surprising. we never do too good against tottenham and they have strengthened their side more that any other team this summer and they are looking very good to challenge for europe. meanwhile we havent improved our squad too much and we're inconsistent.
sorry about the negativity but at this second i dont have much faith in the squad, i hope they prove me wrong.
it would be nice to win though and winning it in good fashion would show we are improving

I think that we have a better squad than we did last season. A centerback and a right winger would had helped greatly but you work with what you have.

Tottenham are being hyped up, they have a big squad, but a lot of youngsters could be there downfall.... Ledley King, Robinson, Defoe and Keane are vital players, aswell as Davids and Carrick IMO. Michael Dawson looks a good defender too. However they don't play away from home and I think they'll finish 6th at best.

I think Man City will be good this year, but for fourth spot nah.

Newcastle have lost 3 games already and despite signing excellent attacking players, their defence is garbage.

Charlton look a decent side and will be dark horses this season for Europe, mainly because they've got pace to burn in Rommedahl, Bent and Thomas. Bolton will also be sniffing around again.

I stopped reading the post after I saw "City" and "Villa".

Whilst I think that Manchester City will have a good season they will not be contending for the fourth place. They are still weak in certain areas and injuries could find them struggling.

Aston Villa are sorted up front but if there's any team that lacks depth it's Villa. Their back four is average at best and with injuries/suspensions it's laughable. They will miss Solano on the right wing, and they really don't have anyone as good as him to replace him. Like I said, they don't have depth. They will certainly not be contending for the fourth place. Baros is a good signing for them but one player isn't going to improve them in all areas.

yes, but i'm sure you said the same thing about everton and bolton last season.
depth for both teams have never been good but look where they ended up last season!

Yea, i saw Rommedahl in the math against Boro, looking very good. Extremely quick but lacks the final touch.

Bolton and Everton had key players that could carry them. For Bolton it was Diouf,Nolan,Stelios. For Everton it was Cahill,Graveson[until he left],Carlsey,Osman.

Villa have no such player on the pitch that can change the game around. It was Solano but he's gone and they aren't going to replace him. They struggled last year because they had no depth and they will struggle again. Just because Everton and Bolton had successful seasons doesn't mean that every mid-table team will do the same.

Charlton look a decent side and will be dark horses this season for Europe, mainly because they've got pace to burn in Rommedahl, Bent and Thomas. Bolton will also be sniffing around again.

Charlton always seem to start well but finish poorely. Last year in the second-half of the season they only won 3 games.

how do you work that out?  ???

i'm a huge riise fan and always have been. i don't compare him and zenden because zenden's best position is centre midfield and in that position he'd be about fifth choice for us.

i'd still take a fit and firing kewell over both of them anyday. whether we'll get to see that anytime in the next century god only knows.

however rafa must like kewell. why else would he have started him in both finals last season?

i am hoping to see kewell on the right for us this season.
he had a few great games for us there in his first season. he can get crosses in with his right foot as well as his left. plus he can cut inside and curl a few shots in the top corner. the goal against levski sofia comes to mind in the UEFA cup.

I feel that Rafa will start with 4-5-1 again with Nando; and Riise will on the left wing, pongolle on the right. The match probably will end up at 0-0 or 1-1 unless we have some sparks on both flanks.

I want a 3-0 situation. Liv can do it if we want it. But if our lads continue the lackadasical attitude thinking we r the Cham and Spurs can do no damage.. we r in trouble.

We ought to fight ... figh and fight. They take the ball we win it the attack  our defence.. we attack twice the strenght. ..
