                                       reina

            finnan     carragher      hyypia      warnock

                            sissoko          alonso

            garcia                 gerrard                 riise

                                     crouch

we've looked quite decent defensively in the first two league games but we'll have to seriously be on our guard against defoe. i think it'll be a good chance to prove how vital crouch will be for us this season. our midfielders, especially gerrard should thrive making runs off him.

I can understand that but for me i still think that 4-4-2 is better!
As a great man once said the best way to defend is attack!
I think playing a 4-5-1 is showing  most teams too much respect, home or away!
we have the capabillity to go for the jugular and scare the :censored: outta teams like spurs and i think we should!
With respect to all other teams in our league as they are all there on merit,i think a 4-5-1 is only called for  against Chelsea,Arsewipes and  Manure!
But then  im not  Raffa! :eyebrow

4-5-1, or 4-3-3 is the way that football is heading i'm afraid. chelsea won the premiership with that system, manure are now playing it, so are the likes of barcelona in spain.

the main problem we have with a 4-4-2 is we don't have the wide players of a sufficient standard to make that system work.

This is the time to have a good look at the keeper, Reina must shine during these 2 games if we are to take say 4 points. I believe Gerrard, Alonso and Sissoko could take charge of any midfield and again(like Riena), we have an opportunity to see whether or not they can handle the pressure as a midfield unit. If the forward line starts to click or the individual up front clicks with the central players we could possibly come away with all 6 points.

I tried loads of differennt formations on paper earlier in  work  with me mate  but no matter  what its hard to find a balance! and then u always think about who ur leaving out!!
I'd hate to be our Raffa !

if kewell can get back to full fitness i'd consider playing him down the right. he played there quite a lot during his first season and had quite a decent amount of success. i remember a few cracking curlers he scored against levski sofia and leeds with his left foot cutting in from the right hand side.

All though spurs have made good signings, we won the CL with our team and have just added to it over the summer. I think it will be a good game but liverpool to win 1-0.

Has anyone got a spare ticket, because i would really like to go.

If you can find in my posts where I claim that I love Zenden then you might have a point but until that happens you're talking out of your ar$e. Zenden is miles ahead of Riise imo however we need to rotate a bit as Zenden isn't currently setting the world alight.

Because one has more skill than the other, one isn't as static as the other.
