As a Newcastle fan I can tell you that when fully fit he was the most outstanding defender I've seen play, better than Ferdinand Terry and Carra. If he puts his injury problems behind him he will be the worlds best. If not, hell of a shame because it'd be such a waste because he's a cracker.

A 1 year loan would be perfect for all concerned.

If he stayed fit for that year and fulfilled his potential, he'd cost us big bucks for a permanent move.

NO WAY! Far too many injuries, even on loan we will still have to pay (some of) his wages. It's just too risky.

the thigh tear problem he has had for the last two year will never be fully repaired and will be detrimental to his whole career, liverpool should stay well away,i can,t believe a club of real madrid,s stature did not fully research the problem, didn,t they sign him when he had the problem.

A good player, but not worth the risk because of his injury problems.

Real signed him while he was injured for 13£+ that´s why Newcastle have the money to sign Owen.
