Rafa not getting his players! - Smells trouble

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

shock horror! top teams won't sell their best players!!!  :suspect:

2 things.

1-how on earth do you know who Rafa's 1st and 2nd choices are???  Crouch was his 1st choice....he said from the end of the season that he wanted to buy him.

2-failure?  How can Rafa be blames if a team doesnt want to sell its best players?  We arn't Chelsea and cannot afford to pay 10+ million over the odds for anyone.

Only 4 days left and still no players.

you've missed out albert luque who we made an offer for but it got turned down. would have been a good choice for the left wing/striker spot.

No. He is more an striker than a left winger, but as a striker he would not improve what we already have. Awful attitude, his lack of respect to the trainer every time he is changed are well known, and he periodically loses his temper and is sent off
He might be quick, but he's half accurate if you compare with Cisse. Won't protect the ball and make good headers as Morientes may (I know he still hasn't but trust me he's keen on that)

On Joaquin: Too expensive. Great dribbling, great crosses, but I'm not just sure he'd fit on the premiere, it's the kind of player that can disappear from the match and won't care about it.

he has corrected the problems of last year with replacing the unreliable dudek with reina (voted best keeper in spain last year ) also bringing in crouch who will provide the physical presence up front that was badly missing last year in away games . we were batterd up front and no one who could win and hold the ball . crouch has the skill to do this i agree that he has been slow with his dealings but im sure that he has something in the pipe line and hope that it wont be the return of perlengrino

reina seems suspect so far. but hope im wrong!!!

hopefully the premiership tradition will go on, like what happened for lehman, howard, cech..etc, all had fantastic first seasons.

Marseille president Pape Diouf is hopeful a deal to sign Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse can be agreed before Wednesday's transfer deadline.

Diouf believes Cisse is the man to transform Marseille's season after a dismal start which has seen them slump to the bottom of the table after failing to win any of their opening five matches.

Cisse's availability may be decided by factors out of Marseille's control, however, with Liverpool reluctant to sell unless they bring Michael Owen back to Anfield from Real Madrid.

"It's complicated with Cisse," Diouf said.

"But this is not over.

"I am waiting to see how things go but as I have always said, it's a complicated situation."

Phil why are you going off at him? Thats a neutral report and he just happened to post it before one of us Liverpool fans did on the forums. From what i have seen ChelseaForever is a sound bloke that doesn't slag us off and makes fair and reasoned posts and im always interested to hear what other clubs fans think of us.
