Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

i can't see us getting anywhere near the money we paid...so whats the point of flogging him now for 6-7 million???  might as well keep him, see how he does this year and then assess the whole situation next summer.

We should get Owen and keep hold of Cisse, i mean every team has 4 decent strikers and i ain't sure wether Moro, Cisse and Crouch can muster up 15-20 goals a season between all 3.

Because he delayed signing a contract for 18 month, thats talking the p155, no one takes 18 months to decide if they want to commit to a club and in the end he delayed it long enough for a better offer, someone else to come in and snap him up for peanuts.

I don't think Cisse is going to be sold.

Mellor looks to be on his way on loan at least.  Rafa would not rely on Pongo as his 4th striker as he is too unproven.

All top sides need at least 4 class strikers, and that is what we will have.

Cisse
MO
Nando (although rumours persist about a 1 year loan to Newcastle or Bolton)
Crouch (ahem)  ???

Pongo/Garcia/Kewell/Gerard can all play the "behind the striker" role if needed.

If Cisse goes (after losing Baros) we would be very light up front, and we'd be likely to be in a smiliar situation to last year if injuries hit us hard again.

Cisse came to Liverpool, excited at the prospect of playing with Owen.  I think he will get his chance.  :buttrock

thats my opinion too.  People go on about Owen being compared to Rush....Rush would never screw the club who made him.  However, we need goals and although i woudn't welcome him with open arms....i would like to see Owen return, but not for 15+ million.

reports in the papers have suggested a deal with sydney govou from lyon plus cash could be available that may ease the pain of losing a hot prospect on the cheap as he was a target at the start of the transfer window.

Liverpool would not pay more than £12m for Owen as I don't think we have much cash to splash out on him and thats why if we bought Owen I think they would see Cisse at some point weither it be now or January :(

I think our run has been left a little late. Owen should have been sewn up well before now. And to get rid of Dibj would be a mistake. Owen, Cisse, Nando and Crouch. 4 pretty good striking options

Cisse is going nowhere and MO is definitely on his way 'home'. Since we lacked firepower upfront, we need them both. Anyway, by having this 2 players, can we afford to buy a new right winger and a CB?
Hopefully by Sept. 1st., we're getting all the players we want/need. ???
