Where will the goals come from? - I don't rate our strikers

whatever any1 says they are both goal creaters not goal getters this is not a critisim it is the truth even tho cisse keeps saayin he will get 20 goals a session he will get around 15 max if he stays fit and nando will only get 10-13 goals both are used to playin with 20 goals a session player at real nando and raul or even ronaldo which brings out the best in nando and that type of player cisse scored loads og goals but in the french league need i say more it aint he best but if either of them play with some1 like owen or kuyt will do really well as 4 crouch he is not a bad player but i am not gonna judge till i see him play 4 us much 4 us

If he scores a few goals there won't be speculation of offloading him.

But he has been scoring goals this pre-season. Two goal less games from the right flank in the league and another one in a stinker on Tuesday night and you have written them off. It's because of pessimistic fans who jump on players backs after a couple of games that Anfield is so quiet (big Euro nights accepted) these days.

As the previous poster said - Show a bit of faith. I'm sick of all the bloody whinging on this board at the moment. All i hear is a bunch of know-nothings sticking the boot in all the time. It's depressing  :(

Sorry, but Cisse is NOT a goal creater he is an out and out N0.9, who is quite selfish in front of goal in all honesty (not a criticism, as this CAN be a good thing!!).
If you see the majority of his goals (across his career) more often than not, there are no team mates within the vicinity and if there are, they are not exactly in the position to be played in to score.

Cisse is most definetly not a goal creater in The Nando style  IMO!!!

Spot on LIVERPOOLANYTIME, Cisse is an out and out no.9 if ever I saw one.

And you're right, he's very selfish in the final 3rd, but then again all top strikers are.

I think some people forget how young Cisse really is.  I have to admit that I'm not 100% convinced that he's going to be a top striker and I do think we payed way over the odds for him, but I'm not ready to write him off yet.  He deserves a chance, and once we get a right winger in, he will be deployed more in his preferred position up front and hopefully we'll see the best of him.  These rumours aout selling him are ludicrous and I feel sorry for him as he seems genuinely hurt by them.

just give cisse some time... he's had not much time especially aftering recovering from his injury... moro also needs more time.. you guys keep criticising them and they'll never feel the support and just keep getting hurt and it'll prob be harder for them.. and dont force rafa to get owen... really... otherwise the same thing might happen to him like in valencia.. he just leaves cuz he's under pressure from the board...

Everyone on here that is knocking the strikers and even Rafa are soooo annoying; we are only 2 games into the league and they are already writing us off; everyone needs to have faith and realise that even the best strikers have patchy periods. I agree it would be great to see Owen back but don't forget that he also had his quiet periods and the fans got on his back then; there were even periods when GOD was at Anfield and he had dry spells. Cisse & Morientes are proven goalscorers and if they are given a little bit of time they will come good; I have posted recently that we should ditch Morientes but that was just a typical knee jerk reaction that we all make and on refelction I think if we give him the chances he will come good.

scouser mike wrote:Last nights performace was a disgrace this is the so called squad players we were short of, what you dont see on the telly is how lazy Morro and cisse really are, they need to watch a Ian Rush Video to see what working without the ball is, at one ponit Zenden got to the Byline looked across the area and Moro and Cisse jogging yes jogging into the box this is 2nd game of the season so the old line of tierdness is not a excuse, i really hope letting Michael go to the barcodes doesnt come back to haunt us, because if were struggling for goals mid season you can imagine the amount of calls about not signing him will be massive.

I was at the match the other night, and I beg to differ.
If Alonso had of been playing, Cisse would have had goals for sure. I was sat in the centre of the Kop, and had a good view of the formation of play. Several times in the first half, Cisse was working himself into fantastic positions, only for Hamman to pass the ball sideways or backwards. Hamman is an excellent player, but only useful in certain games i.e. against teams that are better than us ala Juventus; AC Milan. Against inferior opposition, he is frustratingly negative.
I keep hearing people mentioning Fernando Morrientes. Is it true that we have signed him. I've heard a few rumours, but I've yet to see him play. Does anyone know when he'll make his debut? He could replace that useless hippie that we've got up front.

Im sick of people on here saying give them time! Ive been hearing that since the houllier days!!We need a striker thats gonna score -not in 2 months time, not even one months time NOW!! All this waiting to adapt stuffs getting tiresome-if youre so good -like many on here say Morientes and Cisse are then get on with it! Its been more than 2 games ,and in our biggest game of the last 20 odds years -we had nothing to threaten them with.It was left to our midfield. None of them are fit to tie Owens laces.
Briing im Home Rafa!!

I can't believe Cisse and Morientes are being written off. They both have had good pre-seasons and the Premiership is only 2 games old for us. Relax, the goals will come.

They should sign Owen.

Then we'll have Owen, Cisse, Morientes and Crouch.

Four strikers. Mellor and Pongolle can be loaned out.
