Houllier has done a lot for the club, lets be honest about that, he is a good administrator. But he could'nt pick his nose never mind footballers. Anyone with halve wit can select and buy good players, the problem is that when your trying to put a team togather you need to seek players that will compliment each other. No good buying square pegs for round wholes no matter how strong they are. Houllier has almost always failed to buy complimentary players. Those that do compliment each other were already at the club when he took over, or in Hypia and Henchoz case, were experienced professionals. All the experienced proven players( bar Biscan) have not let Houllier down, its been the players he sought to develop that have. His buys are all so public. Years ago you'd have heard murmours but today itseems he does his bussiness in the media. Wenger, Fergie and so many other manager seem to keep quiet about who they're after. I think Houllier uses his purchases as publicity because he's egotistical and because he's seeking public adulation. It could also mean that Hhe is a halve wit and is releasing the news so that someone who knows what they're talking about can tell him his making a mistake. either way he'll never win the premiership with Liverpool, he's just not up to the job!
