He has one pretty poor game and you slag him off. The guy has shown how committed he is too the club after coming back from a career threatening leg injury so quickly.

Give him a break ffs!

Cisse! Cisse! Cisse!

Give him a break?

Oh the poor little lamb! on 50k a week.

We need Dirk Kuyt, 29 goals last season.

Dirk Kuyt is a good player but unproven in the prem, I'm sure he would succeed but Cisse is just as capable of scoring goals.  He had a bad game yes, but he'll bounce back. Maybe next game he'll score two, would you still want to get rid of him then?  Just because a striker does not score does not mean they suck. Plus for most of the game he was on the right which is obviously not his best position.

we have now played 10 men squads, that says it all about how they approached the games knowing we came home from Istanbul with the most wanted cup in Europe with us; every club would slaughter us. Besides, no big team having won with big aggregate. Manure have just only won 1-0 too.
I know it's a frustrating game, but higher trees get stronger wind.

We didn't underestimate you, but overestimate our strike force.

Sorry, were we watching a different game? If you call lumping the ball up to the striker 'good stuff' then I despair for Sunderlands chances this season.

I admit, Sunderland were by no means the worst team i've seen at Anfield, but they certainly ain't the best. We could have put a lot of goals past them today, IF WE WANTED. You didn't see a great performance from us because the players, in my opinion, were told to hold back, take it easy.

Yes the strikers didn't score either. 2ND GAME OF THE SEASON. Cisse didn't have a great game. HE PLAYED RIGHT WING. Did we get 3 points? YES.

You wouldn't think so by some of the comments made here today!!!  :Oo:

Not really, we were all expecting to get hammered, the players proved us, and IMO, the pundits wrong.

Absolutely no shame in coming away from Anfield only losing 1-0 and having played some good football.

Yes we lumped it up quite a lot, which is the wrong tactic when playing with one up front, but in the first half in particular, Lawrence and Whitehead had your left back terrorised and even Gerrard was booked for swiping down Welsh when he was on the right.

IMO, we played well, created more chances than we should have, and defended well.

Yes, you won. Well observed, but if your strikers play like that against the top 3 then you won't get far.

And do you think you have a divine right to NOT "destroy" teams...if you wanted to off course. We kept a tight ship with Stubbs and Breen, we have done ourselves proud today.

Bring on the Citeh and Wigan.

I don't think anybody has started with the "doom and gloom" yet, this type of attitude pi5ses me off. Why can't we criticise a poor performance from our team without being accused of spreading doom and gloom throughout the boards, yes we got three points but there were times near the end where i thought they would nick a goal. I like many other fans are happy with the win but unhappy with the performance against a side who are basically fit for relegation.

I gladly accept we have Played 2 Lost 2 and are bottom, was expecting that from the first two games. What narks me is that some people on this board are unwilling to accept that Sunderland played well. Shame really.

Not at all - that's not what I said. If that's a 'tight ship', again, I do worry for Sunderland this season.

Ok, did you think Liverpool got out of first gear today? Do you think we exerted ourselves in this game?  ???

At times you played some cracking stuff,  at others IMO we were all over you.
