I think the most sensible solution is one of the two and Rafa knows it:

!)Take him on a loan with a deal to pay the full price next year
2) David Moores fund the deal personally until the money from this seasons CL comes in.

How about Owen himself pays part of the deal? 'cause he made the mistake to go to Spain and resulted in such a mess.  :;):

We all know that not gonna happen. Weve had the last laugh on them anyway. They havent won anything in the last 2 years. And i doubt they will win anything this seaosn either. Ronaldo, Raul, R Carlos are all past their best. Robinhos ok, i dont rate Baptista. And Zidane is way past his sell by date. He may have scored last night but he was letting loose balls stray.Hes finished.

I hope and think Owen's return will be true come the next week or so, however, I definitely don't think Cisse will move on to fund the transfer - infact I think that suggestion is damn ludicrus!

Baros is definitely on his way out, whether it be to Aston Villa or Lyon I don't know and don't care, the sole purpose of him going is to make room and help fund the transfer to bring Michael home. I think if you put the pieces together over the last couple of week's it's obvious.

The Marca newspaper reported that Liverpool have made a 1200 million pound offer for Owen; and Cisse and Baros are leaving.

Anyone who's good at Spanish?

Marca

1200 million. thats a bit pricey.

Its all rumours.

He's gonna be a bench player at Anfield, and its a   loan deal Actually.

Whos place is he gonna take? Crouch is wishing he hadnt signed now.

there's another report by Daily Mirror saying that Owen will come on a loan deal. This is the link:

And Villa is also chasing the Juventus striker Micoli.

If (or when) Owen signs, we are still going to need Cisse.  That would leave us for with 4 good strikers in Owen, Cisse, Morientes and Crouch. All of them will be needed over the course of the season, you only have to look at our injuries to strikers last year to see that you need squad depth.
