if its true that rafa is going for wiltord to play him on the right wing i dont understand the reasoning why would we chase a 31/32 year old to play on the wing , we missed out on figo because we wouldnt pay the 2 million how much will wiltord cost. id rather we save our money and play cisse on the right not his ideal position i know but henry went from wing to forward so why cant rafa work it in reverse not maybe long term but atleast until we find a player who can do the job and deff not wiltord i play every game or im going. if we really want that mantality sign anelka back

We're just being linked with Wiltord so that doesn't mean that we will sign him(also Salihamidzic) and no playing Cisse on the right would not work, that was proven against Boro.

one game proves he cant play wide right ? he did ok in the other games. he crosses better than garcia and actually chases the ball back when he loses it , he set nandos goal up with a cross from the right ( even tho it was given offside ) the right hand side thing with wiltord was refering to another post where someone said he was thinking of wiltord playing right side. i didnt add to that because i wanted my own first topic thread , so there

He's played there before and playing ok is not good enough, we might as well keep Garcia on the wing. We need a winger who can play well week in and week out. Cisse isn't a winger and therefore can't do that, he's a striker.

( see garcia ) the odd wonder goal isnt enough to keep playing him out there ? and as i said henry wasnt a striker but look at him now. id rather see him out there than watch him warm the bench while nando strolls around up there looking lost. play him wide or play him upfront. either way play him from the start

The lad scored 13 goals in all competitions, 5 in the Champions League which was one of the reasons we got so far in the Champions League in the first place. The odd wonder goal my ar$e.

Yes Henry was a winger that was converted into a striker, but I'll bet you that it's easier for a winger to play as a striker then it is for a striker to play as a winger.

We didnt pay 14 million for someone to play O.K on the right wing for fuc* sake, we paid the money for 20-30 goals a season, and whether he is scoring or not he should always be played there or dropped. Cisse needs a full season upfront so then we can judge how good he is. Right wing isnt an option for are record signing......as for wiltord....

i disagree gary, i think he looks quite effective wide right and certainly a lot better than kewell, garcia, riise or anyone else you`d play out there out of the current squad anyway (bar gerrard that is).
i agree with you to a certain extent in that i agree if a player is so good in his prefered position like gerrard is its pointless to move him because you lose so much because he is that effective, but to me if you played cisse wide and crouch and baros in the centre for example i dont think our strikeforce would lose its effectiveness drastically.
i guess what i`m trying to say is that at the moment i dont think cisse scores so many goals that we cant afford to move him, and if moving him makes us a more threatening side that will trouble fullbacks with pace well move him.
