Liverpool vs middlesborough team news

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I am sorry, but I can't agree with people who think that this was a good performance.  For once Stevie didn't manage to save us and all our other players were exposed.

I am sick to death of us fannying about in the midfield. Noone in our team apart from Stevie and sometimes Sososososososososkkoookoo  are looking to beat people. The one time Cisse actually decides to run down the byline and wallop the ball in behind and we have a chance. It isn't as difficult as we insist on making it.

It seems to me like we are too desperate to be Arsenal at times (a sickness half the premiership suffers from) and it isn't our style of playing. Let's beat people and get the ball in there.

As for Alonso, Garcia, Morientes, Cisse.....I sincerely have my doubts about their potential to be effective in the premiership, although I am giving Morientes the benefit at the moment as he just isn't getting the service.

Baros seemed to be looking up a little more this evening, although a perfect example of why we would do well to secure owen was given at the moment of the cisse cross, gerrard header wide. That ball skimmed across the goal and a poacher with a nose for a chance would have been following up on that on the off chance. Baros was 6 yards off the ball and running in the wrong direction.

I've been patient through the pre-season and haven't said anything bad about them, but when Stevie is the only one getting into positions that you would expect the strikers to be getting into..... we're in trouble.

A draw against 10 fuking men.

Theres no denying we dropped two points, just like rafa said.  Gerrad cant score! only against sh.ite like TNS.

On another note Momo is a legde.

was pleased with everything i saw in the second half, we would have walked away with the win if Gerrard hadn't been tugged down.  This is the team we lost to home and away last season, and we totally dominated them, look at the positives today and let Benitez look after the details.  Bring on the best !  My only thought was where was Riise today
L-type we drew against Boro at home 2-2 so sos but your wrong there

We were outclassed last time around at Riverside, and to come at the start of the season and keep Boro quiet and nick a point[could had been three] is a good start imo.

Cisse was lively but overcomplicated things at times.

P.S.:

Sami please stop hoofing the ball, pass it around.:D

redman i disagree

garcia is VERY sporadic on the right, you answered yourself the possible solution (for this game) by stating gerrard should have gone right,THAT i agree with.
but garcia is better in the hole AT home and in europe where he gets more time.
his first touch is very loose. yes, he has quality but not in that position.

 :D

Alonso not effective in the Premiership? Garcia scored 8 goals in the Premiership in his first season, not really effective eh.

Call yourself a Liverpool fan ??? fickle , even Chelsea couldnt have got through that defence today, 0-0 is a very good result for us first game of the season, the reason Boro are in the UEFA cup is they defend well, dont score that much but they are a compact team, Steve Mac Laren isnt Svens right side man for nothing.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

its good to see some sensible posters posting instead of the doom and gloom brigade.
sissoko had a good game and covered every blade of grass but his distribution and retention of possession needs some work though. i thought hypia had a great game at the back as well. gerrard missed a few chances but again he was our main man.
its dissappointing to miss out on the 3 points but if we dominate every away game like that we wont be far away from the title come next may.

Sissoko played very well, if only he'd score one of his shots :(

the reason they were down to 10 men was because of that player that can only score against sh1.te like A.C milan.
