Right winger - What do you think of david bently

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Just read on ssn David Bentley has put in a transfer request at arsenal, he is a young right winger who excited me when he played for Norwich last season. He ha spoved he can mix it up in the premiership and has played in europe for Arsenal. He is a tricky player and from what i have seen put excellent delivery into the box. With more English core needed at the club, i he probably would not cost that much maybe 2-4m for a player who has prospect. Could it be worth a risk. what do you think? ????

How old is he? If he's under 22, I'd say get him. He'd only improve under Rafa.

Might as well get him. He looked promising last season in a sh*te team. The trouble is, would he look sh*te this season in a promising team?

If he's cheap, young and talented, why not? But on the other hand, it's going to be hard enough getting game time for Barragan, let alone another youngster on the right. And presumably, he wants to leave Arsenal for regular 1st team, and I doubt he'd be WIWO with us.

i haven,t seen enough of him,and didn,t he get dropped for a few games by nigel worthington for  his bad attitude ,doesn,t seem like he has the good mentality that rafa  speaks of all the time to play for us

Don't like the look of him personally.  To me he looks more like a striker deployed out right rather than a natural right winger.  I don't think he'd be up for coming to us anyway, he'd probably have to sit on the bench a lot, so in that case he might as well stay where he is.  Expect him to move to a struggling premiership team or a championship team

Since last season we have ben desperate for a right mid, so why didnt we go for Park or Routledge, there both quality and we could have of both for a total of 5 million  ???  ???  Bentley is decent but blows hot and cold but to be honest there arnt many quality right wingers about so it ill be intrestin to see who Rafa brings in, But i defo think we missed the boat with Routledge, he will be in the england squad this season.

Its a shame really that when you look around decent english wingers seem to be a thing of the past.

yeh also as we were linked with routledge for a long time while spurs where but we didnt follow up our interest. As im in London I watched a few palace games and he was great on the wing although he doesn't get enough goals as he only scored 1 last season. Would have been a great buy though at 2.5m.

He's a skilful player but he plays in the middle, if the poster cared to actually watch the guy. This is why he handed a transfer request because he can't push out  Bergkamp, Reyes, Persie etc etc. he got pushed to the right but he looks pretty awful there. not going to happen.
