I see where you're heading with this Stu, and personally I feel that if GH was sacked tomorrow we would only be able to bring in a caretaker manager, either Phil Thompson or someone else.
Thompson has already proved he can do it on a short term basis at least, but his approach might not be dramatically different from GH's.
Bringing in another short term care taker manager, i.e. a former player like Rush, Dalglish etc could be dangerous, as we could either experience a spectacular (but short lived) improvement in form or our form could collapse altogether.
GH needs to go in my opinion, but the timing is not right now. We could still limp home in 4th spot, and GH is more likely to do that than a caretaker manager (with the exception of maybe Phil Thompson).
I want GH to leave at the end of the season, but as long as we still have a realistic chance of 4th spot we should keep him on until May.
However, in no way am I excusing GH, and he still needs to go.
In answer to your question Stu there is no easy answer to what someone could do now to improve us dramatically, but I think thats an arguement against GH's regime, not in favour of it.
Jolly Bob Grumbine.
