I just wanna mention a couple of points. an earlier post mentioned and was angry with the fact that the australian side reckons the only person that would make it in the aus team would be flintoff. based on previous form of players, that has to be true. there are many quality aussie players playin state cricket that would make it for other nations test sides, but can't crack the aussie team. i am convinced some of them would be superstars but for the fact they were born at the wrong time. at one time i would have liked to have vaughan in the side, but at the expense of who?
as for the 5-0 thing, i have only really come across pundits from england that suggest that would be the outcome. I expected the first to be close, but for one or two sessions it was. The second i had no idea, proved to be one of the most entertaining test matches i've watched on tv. and i agree with pontang here, well done for the fighting spirit of our tail enders, but i am sick of aus losing the close test matches. in recent history we have never won close test matches.
I like the australians chances at old trafford. but i believe the greatest asset the aussie team has, is the ability to head-f*ck an opposition team. unfortunatly with the last result, this will be harder to do. our openers have not been able to dictate terms to bowlers. This is due to many factors, bad form etc, but mainly due to the quality of bowling from england. the only other side i've seen do this in the last eight years that provides no relief from either end , is australia.
so well done england, game on !!!!!!
