What would happen. Current situation. What would be your methods? Your handling of the press? Your strongest team and soloutions for the odd injury? Your tactics and your ideas?

EVERYTHING you'd do to do with the club.

I see where you're heading with this Stu, and personally I feel that if GH was sacked tomorrow we would only be able to bring in a caretaker manager, either Phil Thompson or someone else.

Thompson has already proved he can do it on a short term basis at least, but his approach might not be dramatically different from GH's.

Bringing in another short term care taker manager, i.e. a former player like Rush, Dalglish etc could be dangerous, as we could either experience a spectacular (but short lived) improvement in form or our form could collapse altogether.

GH needs to go in my opinion, but the timing is not right now. We could still limp home in 4th spot, and GH is more likely to do that than a caretaker manager (with the exception of maybe Phil Thompson).

I want GH to leave at the end of the season, but as long as we still have a realistic chance of 4th spot we should keep him on until May.

However, in no way am I excusing GH, and he still needs to go.

In answer to your question Stu there is no easy answer to what someone could do now to improve us dramatically, but I think thats an arguement against GH's regime, not in favour of it.

I agree it would be be very difficult to make a change at this stage of the season. Thompson is the only option available although i do believe performances would improve if GH walked tomorrow. I do not believe that the players enjoy playing for the manager anymore despite public support from Houllier favourites such as Murphy, Carra, Stevie and Kirkland. I notice Mikey and other memebrs of the squad have declined to support the manager in public.

I still believe Houllier will be allowed to stay if we limp home to 4th place. I also believe MO will go if the manager stays.

i still think that it's between us and newcastle for fourth even though we're both as bad as each other. the top 3 are LIGHT YEARS ahead of everyone else. it's embarassing. we still have to play arsenal, man u, charlton and newcastle so there are some defining games coming up.

I said 6 months ago, if we fail to get 4th Houllier will go. Liverpool arent a club for sacking a manager mid season. Finishing fourth now will take a large form reversal, Im guessing 6th or 5th, worst case scenario 9th.
Football is a simple game, all you have to do is pass the ball to a player in a red shirt.

Greenred, it doesn't make you a bad supporter - just a frustrated one like all of us. As most people know I have been attending matches regularly at Anfield since 1958 and I have never known the atmosphere at the club to be so low as it is now.
As one of the 'Shankly kids' I certainly do not regard fourth place in any competition as a success. Not on Liverpools standards.
I can understand your feelings about finishing fifth inorder to get rid of GH. I am lucky to have seen all the great teams in the past but unless GH goes quickly I cannot see many great teams coming along in the future.
Too many people are calling us a middle of the table team for my liking. Shanks must be turning, twisting and shouting in his grave. It's pathetic.

If I was given Houllier's job -

I'd criticise the fans and former players, sign lots of ***** players at excessive prices, field players out of position, keep trying players who aren't good enough, play negative football and make cr@p substitutions, claim every new player was the next Zidane, make excuses for losing, blame the ref and say we deserved better

Might as well just keep Houllier as he's doing the job so well
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
