He is actually being considered as a defensive option.

He was a star in Euro 2004 not for scoring goals from midfield, but covering his fullback and stopping play on the right.

I think rafa would use him for most away games, and play a more attacking game with 3 forwards at home.

Malbranque over Stelios, even if he costs 4-5 times more, better long term investment, great vision & also has PL experience.

actually if we are thinking of getting stelios, i rather we keep baros and play cisse at right wing.

You can't go wrong for £1m, can you? He has proven himself in the Prem, so he has experience, and he can cross AND shoot, rather than our usual either/or choices. Go for it, if it's true...

Stelios -is at best average, he'll be a bench warmer for us i'd rather look for a strong long term replacement.

However this afternoon he's commited himself to Bolton............So expect him to be signing for us soon!
