Going to the game on Tuesday - yey! - anyone recommend hotels near the ground, and best places to park?

If you want to sample the city nights then stay on the Dock Road somewhee. Ibis, Campanile, Formula, Travelodge are all on the Dock road. If you want to stay out of Liverpool then go for somewhere like The Suites at Kirkby or the Village just ioff the M57 in Prescott.

Parking is always a problem the nearer the ground you get so I'd suggest you get there nice and early and try actually parking on the street. Be aware a lot of the streets near the ground are resigdent parking only on permit and you will be booked but a few of the surrounding streets have some available parking spaces for non-residents so the earlier you arrive the better. Expect to pay the local kids a quid to "mind your car"  :D

There is a bar in Rice Lane, pretty close to the ground, walking distance, called CHUCKY'S, just been built with good bedrooms and all en suite. Can't remember the number but directory enquiries should have it. Better than the towm hotels with safe parking behind and a VERY late bar downstairs and a good breakfast.
