the only problem with sissoko is everytime he gets the ball i think "what the hell is djimi traore doing in midfield?" :D

Zenden I don't rate at all and sofar haven't changed my mind. Crouch I like but he can and must do better than he has already. Sissoko looks like a really good player to me. It's easy to see why they liken him to Vierra, he even runs and tackles like him. Perfectly suited to British football and with all the attributes you need I think he will be a good player for us. Reina hasn't had to do much as yet so I'll reserve judgement.
All the others we had last season so we've learnt nothing really earth-shattering. Carra is solid, Sami a bit slow, Gerrard superb etc etc. Worries for me would continue to be the form of Morientes and the realisation that 14 million for Cisse was definately over the top. Not saying he won't make a player, and he took his goal last night really well but 14 mill'? Nah.

So true :D

But the fact he doesn't look like he's about to fall over when he runs gives it away :)

I have to say that I'm impressed with Stevie (maybe after this contract bullsh.it he'll put this kinda performance like against TNS) and I can't believe that I'm saying this but also I liked Baros, if he'll keep his performacne and keeps scoring I'll eat my words for letting him go.

i like zendon, gives the team loads of width and about 80% of his crosses are going into the danger area.
Crouch has done really well.. he is a nuisence whenever he plays
Sissoko played well last night, he is the man to take over from the brilliant didi hamman.
a\bit early to say about reina, but he looks like he knows what he is doing.. its really strange coz he has hardly had a shot to save, but something just makes me think he is a great keeper? ???
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Zenden has more skill in his toe of his left foot than Riise has all together. To me thats an improvement on the left wing, I don't know why you don't rate him but he's been lively and has been able to beat his man almost every time he's had the ball. Riise has one trick and thats try to outrun his man in order to get around him, and that's not good enough.

I know one thing from preseason games  Riise is shitttte at left back.   He cant defend, Traore and Warnock have got to play in left back before Riise.  Also Josemi is about as much use as a chocolate tea pot.  If sevilla want him they can have him.   Also another thing ive noticed is one difference between Rafa and Houllier.  I like the way Rafa brought Nunez to the club and lets face it hes been shiittte but, now only a year down the line he's letting him go.  Where as Houllier would be to stubbing and continue to play him even though he knows hes :censored:.  As if to say I dont buy :censored: players he's good honest just wait and see.  :D

Sissoko is going to be a fantastic player, I can hardly wait to see him take out fancy pants Ronaldo ( I know its out of position but I can dream )

Mate I dont care how long has played where he cant defend.  Warnock And Djimi are much better options at left back.

A.B. I confess to something of a blind spot when it comes to Zenden. Your comment about his ability is not disputed from this quarter, it's his application that I take issue with. I've got a mate down here who's a Boro fan and I've seen him play a couple of times in the last season or so as a neutral. Each time he's been a peripheral figure, on the fringes, not really of any influence.
Now it's precisely because I too believe he has talent that I find his casual approach not to my taste. Hopefully, this will be the stage he has been lokking for and he may do the biz but I doubt it to be honest. Sofar I've been slightly, only very slightly encouraged but I'm not banking on him to pull us out of the mire very often lets put it that way.

I wonder why he was voted Boro's player of the year by the fans if he's not an influence. I think he will prove to a key figure  to this team.
