i will be happy with any win and no injuries and we to killed off the game at home.
Bill Shankly after beating Everton in the '71 cup semi : "Sickness would not have kept me away from this one. If I'd been dead, I would have had them bring the casket to the ground, prop it up in the stands and cut a hole in the lid."

The pitch can't be that bad or the ref would call the game off.If it's only just playable we can forget our usual passing game and lump it forward to Crouch to score. Apologies to the pass and move purists, but he is exactly the type of player we have needed at Liverpool to give us an extra attacking option . A la Carew and Jancker at their respective clubs.

i really hope baros stays and plays tonight alongside crouch.
i want to see whether baros improves with the new "baros&koller" partnership.
that would be interesting.
defenders would be occupied with crouch because of his height, therefore letting baros wonder freely!
just a theory!

Don't get carried away with their record as their very own Abramovic cleared off at the end of the season (theirs runs from March to November) and bought Heart of Midlothian of all teams !
He then shipped most of their side over to Scotland for trials and quickly sent eight of them back. Since he went off with his money (Chelsea beware !) they have slipped considerably and are struggling this season in comparison.
Having said that I watched their national side against Spain who were lucky to scrape a 1-0 win thanks to a Xavi chipped cross giving an easy header in the very last minute of injury time. They looked a very difficult side to break down.

Steven Gerrard is expected to be fit for Liverpool's trip to Lithuania to face FBK Kaunas, as the European champions continue the defence of their crown live on Sky Sports 1 on Tuesday.

The Liverpool skipper limped out of training on Monday night with an ankle injury, but the club are confident he will be fit enough to take part.

Rafa Benitez will want his skipper involved after he blasted five goals past TNS in the last round, but he may opt to play safe if the ankle is a problem, considering the state of the pitch.

The 8,000 capacity S.Darius and S.Girenas Stadium recently hosted the European Junior Athletics Championship and the bumpy playing surface could be a worry to The Reds.

Kaunas could also have a slight physical edge as they are currently halfway through the Lithuanian league season, where Aleksandr Piskariov's side sit in second place.

The current champions, Kaunas have won the league for the past six seasons and will provide a step up in opposition for the UEFA Champions League holders.

Benitez will field a full-strength side as he has been careful not to underestimate their opponents.

Peter Crouch is set to be handed his competitive debut while Milan Baros is in the squad but is not due to make an appearance as his future continues to remain uncertain.

Steve Finnan is doubtful after falling ill, with both Josemi and Carl Medjani able to deputise at right back, while Djimi Traore is injured and Stephen Warnock could again step in at left back.

Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher will continue in defence, with the giant Finn having an amazing record for The Reds after having played every minute of their last 45 European matches - a run stretching back to 2001.

Spanish keeper Jose Reina should start in goal with Jerzy Dudek also facing an uncertain future despite his Champions League final heroics in Istanbul.

Djibril Cisse and Fernando Morientes will fight it out for a place up front while Darren Potter is due to keep his right wing slot after playing both games against TNS.

i expect a comfortable win tonight, just starting to get into gear now and they are very weak opponents so it should really be a walk over

Don't expect a comfortable win, the pitch is horrible and Kaunas will "park a bus" in front of their goal.
