Gerrard - Too dominant?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Before you start shooting this post I agree hands-up that SG is our ONLY hope at the moment.

It appears though that sometimes he disrupts the rhythm of Liverpool's play by constantly chasing his own players for the ball to start an attack, instead of taking better positions up the pitch. Also at times I think he is not patient enough to weigh all the options before making his surging runs or long crosses - too much adrenalin that can be tamed in my opinion.

Credit the guy for his passion though. the other players need to start taking more responsibility though. gerrard has a slight knock which may keep him out of the southampton game on sunday. if that happens we're f#ck#d.

Sorry to disagree but I woudn't change a thing Gerrard is doing. Gerrard knows that basically the entire team is slaking about so why not take charge.
Interviewer:       'Would it be fair to describe you as a volatile player?'
David Beckham: 'Well, I can play in the centre on the right and occasionally on the left side.' (Man U)

I agree to a degree, I thought myself that Gerrard perhaps dominates the side too much and we focus too much on him rather than the team. It is like Beckham for England, too much focus on him means the other players don't see as much of the ball. While Gerrard is a star player, there are other players who can also play.
