This summer we have spent £18 million on 3 players the rest either free or loan, but where has the money come from the was a rumour that rafa needed to sell before he buys next this was after reina, but we found £12 million for crouch and sissoko. I know we got about 6-7 milion back from diarra and diouf transfers. Do we really need to sell baros & dudek now because with the addition of hopefully Figo on a FREE and keeping baros and dudek we woyuld have at last a very impressive squad with at least two international class players per position.

The Problem with Figo is the wages and although we've freed up a lot, we need more. Especially if we are serious about Milito joining. His wages will be relativly high as he is an Argentine international. His transfer could be over £10m, and their are rumours abound about Luque, Upson and a few more. Dudek and Baros COULD fetch that £10m (although probably less) and having a defecit of defenders is never a good thing. Our surplus keeper and striker (personally, I'd rather keep Baros) are the easiest way to fix this problem. But really, who knows?

Something we must not forget when making assumptions is the wage bill.

Many a club have found themselves in deep,deep sh1t by trying to service a wage bill that was just too high.

It's a fine balancing act and whilst we'd like to keep a large squad and compete on all fronts, sometimes you have to take the balanced approach and compromise between squad size and wage bill.

Liverpool officially made £20.5 million from the European Cup, add the sales of diarra and Diouf, add the fact that there must have been a transfer pot already for Rafa to spend ( £20 mill at least to compete with other clubs) and factor in Liverpools increased revenue from merchandise and endorsements following the European Cup win and I think it is safe to say that Rafa spending £18mill on players doesn't break the bank. I suspect he could have spent as much as triple that if he really really wanted to.

i feel that, it is not able spending how much money, it is abt getting the right players for the team. for example crouch is a good player for the team.

So we have Carson Dudek Reina Kirkland now?

Will Rafa sell Dudek while Kirk is on loan? he will only be left with 2 keepers... or mayb Harrison will be 3rd choice?
