Ok, I've been humming this to myself all day trying to come up with some words for it and I think I finally did a good job. There might be a couple of double syllables and I can't remember exactly how the tune goes from verse to chorus, but I'm quite proud of this. Here goes:-

To the tune of "I will survive"

In Istanbul we were afraid, we were mortified,
We were three nil down at the half and every shot was going wide,
And then Gerrard nodded home, and smicer's shot rippled the net,
Then Alonso struck his rebound and he cancelled out the debt,

And we said "GOAL!"
He scored the goal!
That took us to the penalties and that silly dancing Pole

Kaka might have scored, but Shevchenko had to miss,
Cos' it was Jerzy's super saves that sent us into bliss

And Thomo cried, and Riise joked
And Cisse danced around the cup and Rafa's a great bloke
And we knew we had to win
We saw Sami's massive grin
As the Reds stood in a line and watched Didi's shot go in

Another European cup means that we got the gold!

Jamie broke his groin for us and Stevie ran the show!

That Tears For Fears song "Shout" comes to mind (substituting the word Crouch obviously) but I'm afraid song writing isn't really my forte...
