Morientes - How long do we give him to perform?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Has no 1 else noticed that all the Spanish players,Morientes include find it difficult adapting to the more physical side of our game! This is more obvious away from home!No 1 is doubting theyre skill and ability!I personally think they need kicked about the training pitch a lot more to toughen them up!

"Chelsea Forever" Im sure you want to be a liverpool fan, as you are never out of these forums!

Come along to our museum and tour, and see what the game is really all about, history and tradition.

we know chelsea's trophy room, is kinda one big empty room barring a league title trophy, and a carling cup.

Fernando will be used like Vieri was at Inter. For experience, for the last 30-20 min, start a quiet a few games (not all), used in big games etc. I dont think he will score more goals than Cisse. If its a 4-4-2 then Id bet its Cisse and Baros upfront, unless he wants to use Garcia as that 5th Mf and support Striker inbetween role.

i heard its gonna be crespo and drogba for u guys......good luck  :p

He was bad in one game, most of the shots he had were decent just the goaly was outstanding. I'd give him till the end of the season. Dont criticise until he becomes consistantly bad.

Fernando hasnt had a full season fit since he was at Monaco and no one should be judging him till he has. I dont think anyone at Liverpool has a CV as extensive as Fernando Morientes so the answer to how long do we have to wait is quite simple. As long as it takes him.

He scored V tns, although disallowed, he found the net! 2 V Wrexham, and he won golden boot for Monaco.

I think you are talking out of your backside lad, this is not another heskey we are talking about, and we gave him at least 4 years!

We need the wingers, like Zenden, and Figo, along with Alonso Garrard, Garcia etc to put them in on goal, good crosses etc. Im expecting 25 + from nando this term,

Four (4) years? ???!!!
Are you out of your mind? If anyone doesn't perform within 2 season he is out. You gave him four years because of reputation, might as well ask Ian Rush to join again and give four more years. Why are you people so obsess with his previous record? To be utterly blinded of his inability (currently) to challenge in the premiership.

If he can improve over this season, and not perform his amazing disappearing class act he may stay up to 4 years. Else this is his last season.

You must be living in neverland...
In real life things are finite... in neverland it is infinite.

First question: Why you allow him to take his time?
Does you boss tell you to take your time to finish up the urgent report? Or the doctor to tahe his/her time to save someone's life in an emergency? Take your time to enjoy yourself... yes. But not when serious work are involve. Know the difference.

Second quetions: Is it better for Liverpool to have Morientes to take his time to perform? Let say he take 10 years, would it make you a happy man knowing he finally did it even when it took 10 years? Get real. If everyone take his time to perform Liverpool will never challenge for the premiership. And it your case, 10 freaking years later..........

Showing support for players is great but never blind support.
Too much of anything is a bad thing.....

We don't have a good winger to support him--that's what really troubling us now.

How much time we give him? One full season. It's been three pre-season games, whether he's good enough for this club will be shown at the end of the season.

I say we sell him now, he isn't going to be the big name he has some how created for himself, seems to be a common issue for Liverpool, sign a big name then watch him fade away, although cisse is doing well to prove that logic wrong.

So you want us to sell a player without giving him a chance, a full season to prove himself? If this was his second season then I might agree with you but come on at least give him the opportunity to prove himself.

I'm glad you're not our manager.
