..........now that you mention it why would you prefer kuyt over crouch?

crouch is taller than kuyt.
crouch has played in premiership.
crouch is still young.
crouch has good footwork for his height.
crouch is ENGLISH, which will benefit us when the new rule comes in.
crouch is breaking into the england squad when in saints team (imagine his quality when playin for liverpool!)

...Crouch has teeth that can make Beavers jealous.

you fuc'king idiot lando  :D

Redknapp said: "I see their manager (Rafael Benitez) has instructed his chief executive (Rick Parry) to get Peter Crouch - but if they want him they have got to pay the money.

"They said they wanted to go on tour with him so they need to buy him this week or forget all about him. Then we can all get on with our lives.

"We don't want to sell him but obviously if the money is right then we would have to look at it.

"But the offer they have made is not good enough. They offered £6million for him, West Ham did to, but we decided it wasn't enough.

"I don't want to say how much we want for him but they are not there at the moment, that's for sure.

-- 6M isnt good enough .. they want 8M --

Haha .. Harry must be on crack! Crouch worth 8M!! Why in the world would anyone want to spend 8M on him!! IMO Rafa should show Harry the finger and stll him to shove it.

You can get a much more lethal striker from Germany or Spain for that kind of money or less ... seriously think about it, do you want a lanky 9foot player who is good in the air and decent on ground, or a fast preadator who can beat defenders, dribble and bang them goals in!

I wouldnt buy Crouch, cant understand why Rafa is so adamant on getting him.

Cheers

I would forget crouch and pay whatever fee real want for figo.
we have enough strikers to get us through the season, Morientes, Ciise, Kewell, Baros, and garcia who can also play there,

I don't really fancy any of the strikers out there right now, although Christian Vieri went to Milan on a free.

I wouldn't be buying Crouch myself, but some of the posts here about him adding something different must be true. See Morientes last night - plenty of criticism about him not being physical emough in the commentary and on here. So, we do need someone who can do the physical stuff - I hope Morientes will be that player, but Crouch could do it. As for the price, def too high, but think about the wages. Kujt would want what, 40/50 k a week? Crouch probably half that. £1 mill+ a year saved! Still not enough to convince me, but perhaps not as bad as it seems at 1st glance...............

after giving this some thought.
i realise why crouch is wanted so badly by rafa.
that is purely the fact due to his ariel ability.
if any one saw the T.N.S match you would of seen the crossing of gerrard and zenden. AWESOME!
so if we sign figo, just imagine crouchy getting on to those crosses! goal! goal! goal! sign him up quickly.......along with figo (or someone who's dynamite at crossing)

Not being one to drag up old threads, I was searching for a thread where I asked how much we thought Crouch was worth. As I recall, whichever forum it was on, consensus was he wasn't worth £7m but more like £3m-£5m. I couldn't see it, but reading consensus back when makes great reading, if only to see what we all said back then.

Out of interest I have started only TWO Crouch threads in this main forum, believe it or not, of which only one was specifically about him. And there are only three pages of threads with Crouch in the title, may well be more in other sections
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
