To be honest I like your point because If we buy Figo (who is overpriced at 2mil anyway) he will have to adjust to the english game whereas if we but from a lower league they have english football experience and will come at a cheaper cost.

You can't say buying from lower divisions hasn't worked for other clubs such as spurs. Andy Reid, Michael Dawson, Defoe, Carrick. They are all good players that I actually rated before spurs signed them.

Cahill is another. There are good players in the lower leagues and i would prefer a player for the future than to waste 2 million on a 32 yr old on a 1 year contract.

mind you, i'm hopeful that Real will let him go on a free.

Nunez is a gonna.. so it says on Skyspoprts.com.. Apparently Benitez has told him LFC are looking for another club for him...

I'm actually worried about the prospect of figo coming just because he will have to adjust. And it makes me think will he not just be as bad as pellegrino was? Giving the ball away etc.

i would say give nunez a loan spell somewhere in england for a year and bring him back next year for 6 months. If nothing happends with his productivity, then sell him in january. This might give him the confidence back he needs to play in the EPL.

I can't believe the amount of people on this board that think Figo will be a flop.He may be 32 now but he is a complete professional and a winner.

I reckon he'd be the buy of the summer, sure he isn't a long term option but surely the fact that he has virtually slashed in half his wage demands shows the fella wants to come here for the football not the money.

The only reason he's not here already imo is that Rafa feels Real shafted him on the Owen deal so personal pride is making Rafa refuse to let it happen again, and fair play to him .

I would love to see Figo in the red shirt of Liverpool. You can't compare him with Pele??

Was he ever World Footballer of the year?

Figo could handle the rough and tumble of the EPL as he is a big strong lad, who can hold his own.

Spend the 2 mill and bring him in Raffa!!

figo has the strength for the EPL, but im questioning his stamina for the long season we will have. If he gets injured, which is a greater possibility because of his age, what will happen then?

Well too bad he wont have that many chances to prove himself this season either, provided that we have garcia/zenden/pongo or even gerrard playing on teh right

I like Nunez... He has improved so much since his arrival . He plays well on the right.

But, may be Rafa wants some one better there. In any event he could be a good backup. Why loose him. ?
