Popeye - Why keep owen?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I know people are entitled to their opinions but...........

Why do Liverpool fans turn on Owen every time he hits a barren spell? The guy, when fit, is a top player. He's one of the most marketable players in the world and the shirts he sells in the Far East pay for other useless whores like the aforementioned Smicer, Biscan and Diouff.

We should look at bringing in a guy who will compliment Owen and carry the burden for the side when Owen is injured. A genuine goalscorer alongside Owen, with Pongolle and Baros as back up (for the meantime) is a priority.

every striker in the world has a "barren spell" at some stage in their career. it's about how you work through it though. owen had a barren spell last season, and then went and banged in a hatrick against man city. he then scored 12 goals in his next 11 games. if the team was playing better then owen would be scoring bucketloads.
