But bombing your own people goes to far for me - they don't need to. Like you said the media is pretty much 1984, and by your own logic enough people will believe whatever they want them to - so why go to these extremes when the subtle stuff works so well for them?

FEAR = CONTROL

I would elaborate but i keep getting into a long explanation (well i have to explain myself dont I?? Cant just say something when i am replying) and i am trying to just kick back.....You guys    :D

I ALSO AGREE that bombing your own people is OF COURSE going too far, i DONT/WONT/CANT/SHANT condone this, but it is still what i feel happened.

see i started again there had to hold myself back...

Yea i got that feeling too............I'M ALL ALONE  :sniffle

:D   :D

Thats life though bruv..Thats Life, sometimes we (as a people) wont see eye to eye on matters, its what makes the world go round...Imagine how boring it would be if we all agreed (actually must be boring for you guys in this Thread because YOU ALL agree to disagree with me   :p) ok but back to being serious, as i was saying life would be too boring if we all agreed, and thats the type of thing the Government would love, that we ALL agree....They would love if all people agreed, because there wouldnt be people creating awareness eg; things like the G8 summit.

However, ITS GOOD TO TALK...or type as is the case!!

Canary Wharf is a whole area mainly comprising office buildings. The big tower everybody thinks is Canary Wharf is actually called 1 Canada Square

That tower (the "landmark" in this instance) was undamaged so no, the IRA did not target the landmark. They targeted an area full of people

SOURCE: wikipedia (online encyclopedia)

'The IRA bomb that killed two people was at South Quay, not Canary Wharf - after the foiled attempt to blow up Canary Wharf itself (following two equally large bombs in the City of London) security at the Canary Wharf development was tightened considerably, so the IRA instead hit South Quay, just to the south.  Because most people (in Britain at least) have heard of Canary Wharf, there's a tendency to call almost everywhere on the Isle of Dogs Canary Wharf.'

So as you can see Wooly although the bomb technically didnt hit (that time) the Tallest building, they HAD already had one attempt foiled and this is why they done it a QUARTER of a mile away, and in another source it says 'was felt' in the 'Canaryy Wharf Tower' (source?..c'mon its late, but i dont lie, so u can beleive me!! :;):  )

Aaah but if you go into central London and look in any direction you'll see a landmark of some description, so you could plant a bomb virtuallly anywhere and argue it was targeted at a landmark

anyway I don't want to argue semantics here, i firmly believe it WAS a terrorist attack (almost certainly by islamist extremists) but if you wanna have your way-out conspiracy theory then that's fine by me cos we live in the free world, and whilst i may not agree with your point of view i would always defend your right to have it

What about the 93' WTC attack? that 'only' killed 6 people did it not. Not all terrorists are effective as the 9/11 terrorists Liverpoolanytime, and to make an argeument for the number of people killed in your theory is bollox.

That is a very good and fair point LFC#1, but the thing is that attack just goes to further enhance what i am saying in terms of Terrorists attacking 'Landmarks'.

The reason 'only' six people died and about 1,000 were injured was because they had put a car bomb in one of the underground car parks with the view of damaging the infrastucture at the bottom and making the towers collapse.
However, they miscalculated how strong the base actually was and their plan never came to fruition.
Though they did obviously get MAJOR news coverage (worldwide) because of the audacity of trying to attack such a large and well known structure.

So it is fair point you make, but I still think as i said before, if planning an attack on London, with so many millions available as targets at the time of Rush hour on the tubes, that, MANY more would have died, if was the plan of Terrorists, remember there were FOUR bombs, NOT one as is the norm ie; your example, typical IRA bombings (except black Friday, in the 70's i beleive). You may say what about Madrid then (which from your point of view would be afair and valid point) but my argument is that WASNT done by Terrorists either.

On a side point LFC#1, how come i always see you posting at mad early times of the morning eh??  You getting up for work, you already at work, or is it that you ARE STILL awake and have'nt even slept yet??   ???    :D
