The reason is that they see him on a more consistent basis and don't think he's good enough
I agree with a loy u say, but this point u make, for me doesnt mean anything. Its like saying for example, Arsenal have Henry, Chelsea have John Terry or any number of top players, Man U have Rooney, Scholes etc; but you dont see the top four teams (us in that top four obviously, not the bitters!!!) trying to buy each others players that often.
It doesnt happen really does it, and this is because one team would be strengthening a rival - and what sense does that make !!!
Yep point taken,
but although many will say loyalty is going out of football (and to a degree it is), england is one of the places where you see hardly any transfers between top teams (almost an exception these days).
Spain and Italy are completely different. Loyalty is almost non-existent. Off the top of my head, davids has played for milan, inter and juve, vieri has played for every top italian team almost, davids for inter and milan. In spain figo is the obvious one, Eto'o for real and barca, gerard from valencia to barca. High profile transfers like these would never happen in england (i know some were not direct transfers but even so).
But aimar to barca or real? Doesn't seem like it would be out of the ordinary to me. In Spain, I think it is significant that the big 2 in particular haven't expressed an interest in aimar. Its not the 'be all and end all' or anything but it can't be dismissed.
I agree with you about your english examples obviously, but that wasn't what i was thinking. Ince playing for us and the scum is the only high profile one i can think of between 2 big english teams
yea point taken too matey.
But nearly all the transfers mainly the italian ones and the ince one, were not direct ie; we didnt get ince from the scum, he came via Inter.
Fair point (and i knew you would make it!!) about Figo, that was almost sacrilige what he did, but Et'oo never really played by Real - he played most of his career at Real Majorca, and when he was there he was co-owned by both Real and Majorca. But i see where you're coming though, but in terms of Aimar, i think its a little different because of the type of player he is - ie; a very different type of player that is extremely hard to replace - both in finding the player but also in funding the transfer fee. Others like a Davids or a Figo are top players (were i shud say!!) but can be replaced, an Aimar is slightly different in my opinion, and harder to replace.
Fair enough chief
Think we've probably debated this one to death and i better get some work done here!!
Catch you later
