Just heard from radio that we just reject the bid of Gerrard from both chelsea (41m) and barca(35m)....
Reds is the sacred colour before this world was born.

"I fully intended to sign a new contract after the Champions League Final but the events of the past five or six weeks have changed all that. - Steven Gerrard

I wanna know what 'events of the past five or six weeks' made SG change his mind? ???, maybe he wanted to talk straight away but felt annoyed that Parry fooked off to Barbados again just as he did when we needed a new manager last year :(

Check this sh1t out, looks like were gonna have to face him this season :(

From Sky Sports:

Early indications in the Steven Gerrard saga have intimated that the player has ruled out a move to Real Madrid and that his heart is set on Chelsea.

Liverpool's talismanic captain stated on Tuesday, following a failed bid for his services from Chelsea, that he was ready to sever his ties with the UEFA Champions League winners.

With negotiations over a new contract at Anfield having reached an impasse, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez claimed on Monday that he was desperate to keep hold of the heartbeat of his side.

Despite Benitez's pleas, Gerrard has elected to seek a move, with the figure needed to be offered to claim his signature reportedly having been set at £40 million - which would be a new British record.

Chelsea are believed to have already lodged a bid in the region of £32 million and it is now very much a waiting game as Liverpool weigh up any further advances from the West London big-spenders.

Whilst Madrid remain long-term admirers, sources in Spain have claimed the capital outfit will only make a move if Gerrard makes it known that he is keen on a switch to Spain.

However, Gerrard has his heart set on a Premier League winners' medal and it would appear the door is now open for Chelsea to land the coveted midfielder.

Speculation has also suggested that Chelsea could use players as bait to convince Liverpool to sell - should they fail to concur on a satisfactory financial package.

The names of William Gallas and Joe Cole have been mentioned but it is more likely that Liverpool would enquire about long-term target Damien Duff should the deal include a player exchange.

I know, but seeing as though he nearly joined them last year it looks like Stamford Bridge will be his destination

I think it's the league title that is the issue. He sees Chelswa with this amazing team and thinks Liverpool will never get there in his time as a player so has decied to sell out and become yet another big name player at Chelsea. Could have been a legend at LFC, but is just going to be another footballer now.

From Sky Sports:

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has made an amazing U-turn vy deciding to stay at the club.

Gerrard had looked to be on his way out of Anfield after telling the club he wanted to leave on Tuesday.

FFS! It's beginning to feel like that Simpsons episode where the world-destroying comet burns to the size of a chihuahua's head in the atmosphere...

Now this is annoying. He has changed his mind??? I am beginning to think that him and his agent have drummed up this elaborate scheme to get a better deal. I read JBG's amazing post and I agree that Gerrard is beginning to rock the foundations of the team that Benitez is trying to create. He is becoming both arrogant and big headed. LFC is more important than Gerrard. Perhaps if he went elsewhere (where he would definately not be Captain) he would realise the world does not revolve around him. We don't need this type of distruption before our campaign begins next week. His actions are not that of a Captain. I almost wish that if he does stay, the Captaincy be removed from him and given to Carra instead. A Captain of a team should lead by example and his example at present is disgraceful.

I still stick to everything I have said in my earlier post and the news today is another twist in the tail of this ridiculous pantomine.

Its a very good, and a very bad day for Liverpool.

Gerrard owes EVERYBODY big time next season.
