Have a read of John Bull's thread in the advanced section, that is the most credible source that I have read and it cast a large amount of doubt in my mind that Gerrard is staying.

I am tired enough to browse everywhere today and i found that all those papers stated Gerrard's on his bike out.

I doubt that is true, the papers always say...a source close to stevie said " blah blah blah"

What bloody source? Directors, parry, agent, stevies mate?

erm...NO! they never specify. cause if they did give someones name, that person would probably deny saying it!

Seriously Leon , sure the press talk a lot of shi'te but on this issue virtually every single one of them and all the tv channels were filing identical reports .As is often said "there's no smoke without fire" ,I feel members were more than justified in discussing this issue , and just in case you haven't noticed 'cause you never read the press Gerrard STILL hasn't signed a new contract.

Just to let you all know that this is the talking point on Talksport right now, and probably for the next three hours........1089 am or SKY channel 858 for those that dont know !!!!

EDIT - Also on Channel 425 (on sky) for those that prefer a visual with the radio!!!!

I think there is a lot of truth in what Leon says. Steven Gerrard is still a Liverpool player, and even if contract talks did break down, that does not necessarily mean that they won't restart or the player will be sold.

SFX are a major problem and take a heavy handed approach to contract negotiations. IMO, I think they played their part in David Beckham leaving for Madrid. I think the stories of Alex Ferguson wanting rid of Beckham are hot air. SFX saw a chink of light between Beckham and Man UTD and weasled their way into the middle of them, sensing a big pay day. After all, agents are there to make some cash and the biggest way to make some cash is to organise a massive transfer.

SFX were (are?) Michael Owen's agents as well and I remember in 2003 he parted ways with them after they hinted he wanted to leave Liverpool, which wasn't true at the time. Owen wasn't one bit happy and got his dad Terry to manage his affairs for a while.....although I think SFX wriggled their way back in.

It could be a case of SFX sabre rattling and trying to panic Liverpool into offering Gerrard more money. In their eyes its all good: they either get Gerrard a massive new contract with Liverpool or they leave Liverpool with no choice other than to sell Gerrard...either way they come out good.

If this is what is happening Steven Gerrard needs to step in and put manners on his representatives. If they are sabre rattling, surely he understands the hurt and pain it is causing Liverpool fans?

People that phone in to radio phone ins know abolsutely nothing about football, as a rule. Listening to a phone in today will only upset you further.

Actually he no longer owns Talksport, he sold it a litle while back for £100m (£7m for himself), just graduated in Media and Publishing (graduation on Friday :buttrock

If Gerrard is the problem,let him go and find another solution for this problem.

Yea totally agree about the callers, but I would rather hear a little about what is going on etc; for example Ray Houghton was just on and he was talking a load of bollox, saying Stevie G is considering his options due to the players that are coming in not being big enough etc;

Sometimes though i dont know who is worse the radio callers or some people on here
