Yes i do agree that if i had the choice between Gerrard and the mony i would always go for Gerrard. Hes bigger than money but its not as easy as that. They want him but for some reason, he doesnt want to stay.

what leaves me with a sour taste is Gerrard's attitude.  Rafa offered him 3 chances last season....Stevie says "wait".....wait for what?  Us to win something?   Us to get into the Champions league?  What was he waiting for?

So now the tables are turned....the season is over, Rafa has 6+ new players to bring in and now Gerrard gets the :censored: because HE HAS TO WAIT?!?!?!  It's don't make sense?!?!?!?!

Be it agents, be it money, be it positional demands.....there is something more here that we haven't been told and i'm guesing it is an offer from Real.  The vibes i'm getting it Stevie wants out, i'll imagine Rafa and Parry will try one last time to talk to him and if that don't work, he'll be gone within a week.  :(

1. Milan Baros turned down Lyon and they have gone out and signed John Carew instead.
2. Didi Hamman was out of contract, the club hadn't approached him about a contract before the CL final and so it was imperative that he was sorted out first otherwise he would probably have spoken to 3rd parties.
3. Rafa Benitez has now confirmed that a new contract was offered to Steven Gerrard 3 times last season but Gerrard stalled.
4. The club could not offer Gerrard a new contract immediately as he disappeared on holidays and when he came back, his agent was away. Of course, the club could have offered Gerrard a contract the day after Istanbul and he probably would have signed it, but there was no way his agents would have let him do so, in the immediate euphoria after winning the title.

Obviously we don't know all the facts and I'm sure both sides will have their own stories, but I do not doubt for a second that Liverpool FC have not done everything in their power to keep Gerrard.

If he wants to go - let him come out with it - but if he goes and his agents blame the club, then regretfully there will be only one reaction from the Liverpool faithful.

If he is going to go then he should be a man about it and hold a conference to xplain to all the "fans" that he praised so much in Istanbull. These next 72 hours will show us all if he really loves the club as much as he said he did last season before he signed a new contract or after the final.

I am shocked at the amount of members on here who rely on Sky sports for transfer news and stories. I simply cannot beleive that you people trust anything written about or reported on football that is not from the horses mouth.

Sensationalising stories is nothing new, and in the same way that the newspapers will never let the truth get in the way of a good story, Sky sports and Sky Sports News are notorious for reporting on something on a hunch in the hope it proves to be correct and they look like they got the story first.

I am shocked at the number of people who have had sometimes heated discussions about our captains future based on the "reports" in Sunday tabloids and Sky Sports. You see when a story reports that :

A source close to Steven Gerrard confirmed" he is well gonna leave"

this means that a reporter who once spoke to Gerrard dring a press confrence for ten seconds ten years ago thinks he is going to leave. Do not ever trust anything reported as from a source or friend of the player. Any friend of stevie's will not be running to the papers with stories of division.

SFX are the people to blame here, and I hope that Stevie sees this and looks at another agent, but in all honesty its a case of the lesser of two evils if he leaves, nothing more.

Is it in the best intrests of their client that SFX decide to share their perceptions of the rigmarole with the gutter press?

Is it just me or is the fact that SFX appear to beleive that clubs deliver trophies to players totally wide of the mark. I've always thought that it was in fact the exact opposite, the other way around, and the rewards for doing so were made accordingly. Therefore Liverpool should be demanding that the player delivers the coveted League title next season. In fact if SFX are correct in their assumption, then the bigger question here must surely be asked of Gerrard, as an ambitious young player, and what exactly is he offering to the club in return for the trophy we delivered for him in Istanbul?

Whilst I do not advocate the witch hunt and obliteration of all football agents. We have been well served by some, and equally how many footballer from yesteryear is set up for life after their playing carear ends, not too many, they needed all the help they could get. Just look at Pele, Best and many legends left penniless after their glorious careaers. SFX need to take a real good look at themselves here.

I think the main threat is the Gerrard's agent. He just call Gerrard to wait until Rafa rises his weekly wages. Players-Agents do have their own strategies out of the football field and it's all regarding the money matters. Rafa has his own endurance.

Tomorrow Never Dies......Hope Gerrard will commit his future with us and the best only came after the worst. Don't let Gerrard be another Steve Mcmanaman. Let him be the Legendary Captain of us.

Godbless.........

I agree with LeonMC, I've never heard such rubbish in my Life.

Stevie G is going Nowhere! and even if he did, I wouldn't be in the slightest ars*d!

Even if he did have a bust up over pay, doesn't mean he's gonna exit the club! anyway, he is under CONRACT at anfield, and Jose Mourhinio may not even want him!

pure speculation.

Even if stevie came on TV in a press conference tomorrow and said it was all a loada tosh, people on here would still believe he is going!

HALF of you in here want to get your DELUSIUONS sorted out!

even if he did go, that means RAFA has 40m + to spend on half a new squad! which means ...SUCCESS!
