I'm getting sick and tired of all this Stevie G 5h1t.  If he does sign an extension, does that mean that next summer will have the same b0||ocks?  Will be still have his head turned?  Where the fu(k does it all end?

We need to remember that it is the manager first and foremost that makes a team successful. In that context, Rafa is more important to LFC than Stevie. Remember, Moyes did a much better job with Everton once Rooney left as an out of control ego damages team morale. In the old days, Stevie would have gone already as team disrupting behaviour like... agreeing to join Chelsea, constantly talking sh#te and undermining the manager (we can't win the European Cup), scaring Igor. Sir John, Peter Robinson, Shanks or Paisley wouldn't have taken this sort of sh#t. Remember they sold Jimmy Case, a big local favourite, because he and Ray Kennedy were always getting into trouble.

Don't get me wrong, I would be very upset to see Stevie leave as top class local talent is preferable to any other type. However, my feeling is that it will be Stevie's entourage that engineers the move rather then LFC.

Forgive me for talking about American sports yet again, but:
I'm a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. For years, we had a "talisman" almost exactly like Gerrard, named Nomar Garciaparra. Captain of the team, 3-time batting title winner, hero to thousands of Boston kids, adored to death by every Red Sox fan who ever lived. He was one of those guys that nobody could ever imagine in any other team's uniform.
Three seasons ago, new ownership comes in, bringing with them new managment. Nomar's status on the team began to be cast in doubt just like Stevie's was last year. At one point before last season, he was actually traded away to another team, but the deal fell through at the last minute. After that he didn't seem himself, and it always felt as though he wasn't performing up to snuff as a sort of subconscious revenge against the team (which he loved as much as any of its die-hard fans) for trying to trade him. Finally, about halfway through last season, we trade him away for two players who, while not even coming close to equalling his stature, filled very, very useful roles in the team. So, the fan base mourned for a while, and it was tough, but that very season, boom...the Red Sox win the World Series. For the first time since 1918.
Sometimes, I suppose, you just have to let go.

Most definatley.I know hes not indispensible but theres this feeling when he plays. He gears everyone up, and really is the only reason we even finished 5th this year. He is LFC and without sounding harsh to RB (im not rying to at all) it would be a huge blow for LFC if he were to go.

Whatever happens we will still b challanging for major honours next season. Whether or not SG is going to playa part in that remains to be seen. But im sure after the first game of the season we will forget wha we were even talking about. Just like when MO left.

that is absolutley laughable, Gerrard was very incosnsitent this season, on occasions he was brilliant, but on occasions he just didn't turn up, particlualry in some of the big matches (2nd half of the CL final and Everton game at Anfield excluded)

Guys like Finnan, Riise, Xabi and of course none other than undoubtedly our player of the season Carra were our best players this season.

If their was ever a time to make Jamie captian, it's :censored: now, he is the real heart of this club.

Maybe true but al im saying is that its a win win situation whatever happens. If he stays, we keep our capatin who well all love. He said he was largley distrated by the media hype last season.

If he leaves, enter a handfull of world class players.

But if he goes, not to anywhere in UK. Real i wouldnt mind as much.
