Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Rafa Benithez has been quite prudent thus far and does not want to fall into the trap of paying way too much for signings. I hope the next signings (just can't wait to hear some positive news because there is not much for us in terms of transfers) will work out more than not and change the balance of the squad towards addressing the inconsistencies which have been the bane of LFC last season.

We don't want to get caught up in the transfer silly season.

By all accounts, Rafa really wants Kuyt but Feyenoord are holding out for top dollar.

With regard to the exchange with Dudek, Feyenoord have stated that they have 'keepers and moreover they cannot afford Dudek-even if he took a sizable pay cut. Rafa knows who he wants but he also knows that when it comes to players being wanted by English teams, the money, both in terms of transfer fees and wages gets stupid.

If it comes down to it he will pay the 10M. But remember Rafa is a good negotiator. Real wanted a lot more than the near £5M LFC paid for Morientes.

Im pretty sure I can recall that Feyenoord had previously lowered their valuation of him to 8mil, but I can't be sure of this as the papers and everyone are still reporting 10mil.  Can anyone confirm this?
