Waste 10 m ????  If we had a class keeper we would have had 4th place sealed.  Just add no fewer than 10 points and that is the effect of a class keeper.

Amongst all the players LFC has been metioned with in the papers, the majority of them are defenders and rightly so. Playrs like Milito and Ibanex will i assume come right in and replace Hyppia and Finnan and maybe Traore. However Rafa is a clever man and will most likely but a few young players to. He has apparently already signed Seville youth player turn pro Barranga as well as cleverly getting to Miquel Roque from Llieda. Bear in mind that the latter one was coveted by Real Madrid and Barca. He has also been linked with Anton Ferdinand but i think Rafa is definatlety not letting any slips ups occur this season as regards to defecne. I think the midfeild only needs maybe 2 additions. I have a feeling hes gonna give Kewell one more chance which will mean perhaps someone to give L Garcia some competiton on the right namely Pablo Aimar. As far as strikers go without buying anyone Liverpool still have one of the best striking lineups in Europe. One of 2 things will happen up front. Baros will go and Crouch/Kuyt will come in or he will keep Baros and sign a young striker form La Liga. And remember dont rule out Owen. He did give a hell of a lot to this club and should be welcomed back with with open arms should he return. It unlikely he will ever play for rivals Man Utd or Chelsea or any other English team for that matter given his ideoligical position in KOP folklore. If he did leave Madrid he would go to Italy.

Imagine if we had cech in goals. We'd have qualified for CL through the league no problem.

LOL yeah. I do think 8Mil is a bit excessive for goalie especially when that money can be put to good use securing world class players such as Aimar and Milito.

I think a lot depends on your signings. So far i dont believe you have Signed a single player (correct?).

Your current squad is strong, but has weak links on the flanks and at the back and I dont believe would be capable to challange for the League. You need quality on the bench to step and and fill up holes created by players who get tired as they are playing so many games - Liverpool doesnt have that.

However if you make a few signings, a new keeper, a new full back and CB. A wing wizzard since you already have a central playmaker in Garcia then you would have a strong chance in the League.

As for the CL im sure you cannot win it. Not because you dont have the ability to, but because there are a lot of clubs who are going to be looking at the trophy since they have missed out on it just by inches --> Madrid havent won it and Zizu and co. will be looking at it as their last piece of sliverware before they retire, for Milan its more important than the Serie A, Juve will be in the running, Chelsea semifinalists last 2 seasons and then you have the underdogs who are always dangerous - dont think you stand a fair chance.

Id go as far to say if you would have swopped Cech and Lehmann/Almunia round so Cech played for Arsenal, Arsenal would have won the league.

First of all you cant talk about have quality on the benches. What happened to you when Duff and Robben bowed out? The difference betwen our player is we have heart and passion becasue we are rooted in Footballing forklore since the 70's. Where as Mr Abramovich is just a Champ Manager fan who tookit one stp far but its ok cos we dont mind being underdogs. We wernt supposed to beat Chelsea or Juve or Olympiakos or even Bayer for that matter. I mean how can a team that spends £200,000,000 fail to score a singel goal against a set of denfender with the combined transfer value of maybe £30 - £40 million. Its wierd but it happend and can happend again. As for Zizou and co, well i think there not hungy any more. Dont get me wrong hes a ledgend but when youve won the world cup and everything else, i think hell be planning on relaxing and enjoying his football more.

You are completely spot on with what you have said. Chelsea can have all the best players in the world, but if they don't have courage, self belief and detirmination to win then you will achieve nothing, Chelsea weren't upto the match both home and away legs in the Champions League and lost as result of it. At least it will be a valuable lesson for them.

To be honest, no one knows that much about football, the reason we can discuss football is through our own set of opinions, I think all clubs make one signing that they regret later on, Diouf - £10million for Liverpool and Chelsea £24million for Drogba, but Chelsea's bank balance is unlimited so, there you go, they can afford to sign players of that price.

Its not even about the money. I mean if you look at our mentality compared to chelseas we were never cocky about winning, Rafa was always cautious and showed respect where it was due. Where as the first thing that Mourinho said after was "for sure the best team lost". I mean if you lot honstly wanna consider yourselves the next Real Madrid or next big team in World Football its all good to gfo and splash £200,000,000 but you also have to act like champions. Not like a bunch of spoilt brats.

Chelsea have to count themselves lucky they had Terry, lampard, Cole and Duff who won them the league, if Terry and Lampard had have been crocked then I doubt you would have finished on as many points as you did, if you didnt have lampard scoring all them goals, there's a lot of games you's would'nt have won maybe a lot of draws.

ManUSA with the supporter base being splintered and Arsenal is on a downward slide (all teams go through it at some point) as a lot of the player are getting older (they barely won the FA Cup). Liverpool despite finishing fifth is on the way up (CL) and will likely finish 2nd if consistency can be found. I think Everton will be a bit overawed by CL, does anyone know when was the last time they were in the main Euro comp?

My prediction for the EPL next year is (and I know its big call):
Chelsea
Liverpool
Arsenal
Everton
Man U
Middlesborough

Relegated: Wigan
Blackburn
W.B.A.

??? Are you crazy the bitters 4th again dont make me laugh
