Now A.B., who would YOU like to see in a Reds shirt?

This thread has been done to death and in those threads I've already said who I would want in the Red shirt therefore I don't want to repeat it again.

:talktothehand

Thankyou for editing down my statement (in your quote) so the final sentence seems completely random.

Its okay.

Although I'm pretty sure that you then did put in some suggestions.

Is there any possibility that we could sign Cahill, he came out and said he would love to play with Kewell for the Toffees. Why can't we sign him to Anfield? :buttrock

really depending on our funds we need a quality wide player...SWP is an option and he is proved in the prem but he does go missing in some games, which we dont need at all. In my opinion we should sign Joaquin. If anyone has seen him play in the spanish league then you know he is out-and-out quality...and we cannot afford to let him go to Chelsea either, they already beat us in the race for one quality winger (Duff) we can't let this happen again!!!

sorry galactico, ....uhm I like Park too, but i thought he was a done deal at old trafford.

Nope it keeps going until the transfer window shuts on the 1st September.

And then it resumes 1 week later with threads titled 'Who should we buy in january' etc.

There are a lot of quality players out there wanting to come to anfield. The problem is just getting them for a fair price. Any transfer is a risk. And paying £ 20 million for a player unproven at the top level is plain foolish. Benitez will not jump in at first chance. He will be patient, and in the end the greedy clubs and agents will reduce their demands and we will all be happy.

Good managers can play the transfer market. Take Wenger as an example. This summer it looks like he is going to sign another top class midfielder at a bargain price. Aleksander Hleb is a superb player, and proven at the top level. Wenger will reportedly sign him for a fee in the region of £ 7 million. I fear Arsenal with Hleb and Vieira in midfield. Contrast thet to Souness taking a mediocre midfielder like Parker for the same amount. It will not be easy for Newcastle to play catch up with Arsenal while Wenger is in charge. And I do not fear Newcastle with Parker and Bowyer in midfield.
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.
