Everton have only signed one player, and thats Davies. The top three teams have only made one signing total, and that was ManUSA signing VDS from Fulham.

He was just giving another source.

Here is another.
IC Liverpool

Same article.

So it seems we don't have the 10 million extra to overpay for the transfer players. I think that he is being prudent and using this as a way to make people back off of ludicrous rumors. How many bogus players are being linked with Liverpool?

Go Rafa.

Yeah i know, its the same source i got it from mate. I thought i heard an echo.................      :D

A lot of players are still on their holidays, give it a few weeks and we shall see where the land lies. I reckon he'll have a couple of signings in before the CL qualifiers for sure!!!

Well, that's three players already out (Pelle, Smicer and Spit the Dog) and Igor looks certain to go.  We haven't signed anyone yet, but the transfer window doesn't close until 31/8, so there's no panic.  There is the matter of the Champions League deadline, but we managed without our two January signings last season.  Keep cool is what I say.

Parry has been quoted as saying "wherever the best players are we will be going".  There's no doubt that £20M is a lot of money if that is what they've given Rafa but when you're talking "the best players", £20M isn't going to go that far.  They gave Rafa £18M last summer for Xabi, Garcia and Josemi in a year when they had just made a £21M loss which put us overall £15M in debt after not qualifying for the Champions league the previous year.  Parry said the £15M was a manageable debt and if you compare it to Manure's £265M debt then it is, so surely after Champions League winning season they can back him up with more than £20M.  It's only £2M more than last summer!  Come on Parry and Moores it's got to be at least £30M plus money from transfers for Rafa to turn us into title contenders.

Stop adding some sums up lads. Only two people know for certain what we will spend this summer: David Moores and Rick Parry. Even Rafa probably doesn't know exactly how much is available.

If he comes out and says he's got £60m, or something, then we're going to get robbed. Better to say £20m and get some players for their actual worth.

Soory but only Chelsea or Real are likely to have that sort of money to spend.  Chelsea for obvious reasons and Real because they have their hands in the governments purse.

Anyone else has to be a bit more reasonable then that i'm afraid.

Nowadays most clubs have about - 0 - to spend. The main reason: wages

player wages take above 80% of earnings and sometimes more. only a few select clubs with strong finances can afford to splash money in the market. ffs we can not even get rid of our own players on a free transfer. that is we can't find clubs willing to pay our players wages, let alone pay us a transfer fee. so when we loan out players, we still end up paying most of their wages.

this is football 2005. the world of illoyal bosman players and greedy agents
