Rafa frustrated! - I hear you rafa

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Rafa is becoming increasingly frustrated by the transfer situation this summer, as Liverpool seeking many world class players are not signing them due to either massive transfer fees or huge wages. This is getting to the point where Liverpool are selling players but not replacing players in time for pre-season. We have some games in Japan plus qualifiers soon after, we don't have much time. Even though we are the European Champion, we still don't have the finances to raid the transfer market to replenish stocks. This is giving me the irrates. We are constantly linked with some huge high profile players, but they are all wanting us to put up with some ridiculous salaries. I'd love Raul to come, but if Rafa want to increase his stocks, we must look for more lower priced players if we want to increase numbers. I hear you Rafa, it's frustrating to only have 20-30 million to spend and replenish stocks. I'm looking at you Mr. Chairman.

From the OS:
RAFAEL BENITEZ will step up his attempts to bring Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt to Anfield as he looks to relieve a frustrating summer in the transfer market so far.

The Liverpool manager is finding it difficult to make any headway as he plans an overhaul of his side in time for the new season, with his transfer kitty of around £20million allowing little room for manouervre.

The only thing that worries me about rafa is this "My plan is to improve the reserve team for next season, and to have some more players ready for the first team."

We need big name quality players, surely rafa would have been given at least £30mill no matter what happened last season add on top  of that revenue earned from the CL campaign and getting rid of a few he should have a few more quid to spend.

I think the only problem is that no one seems to want any of our reserves like diao & co.

FFS get real £ 25-30 millions should give Rafa plenty of opportunities. I suppose he will be able to keep and spend whatever money he raises through sales. That should give him £ 30-40 millions. With this money Rafa can sign 5-8 quality players.

Only 20-30 million?? And we only spent a mesely 35 million or so on players last season..

I really don't how fans can get upset with the chairman or the board. I think they have been more than generous with transfer funds. We're looking at spending around 65 million plus (plus including the money we might get from any players we sell) in two seasons. That's alot of money. And from my point of view, more than enough money for rebuilding. We don't need all this "Galactico" :censored: at liverpool. We shouldn't be looking for star overpriced players for every position on the team, but players that have skill and fit into the mould Rafa wants the team to play and be. 30 million is enough for a recognized striker, right wing, central defender and goalkeeper IMO. Maybe a squad player, too. Also could look for frees. The problem would be figuring the wages in, but with already a couple departures and more soon to be...there is no problem. The money we get from sales can also go towards just "bettering" our options of possible players to pick from for some positions. The positions I named are our key problems that need sorting out, though.

Anyway, waiting around to see what new players will be arriving is indeed frustrating. I'm anxious for next season already, with the high we ended last one on.

Im sorry, but when Houllier had the opportunity to expand his squad, he did so by splurging huge amounts of money, Diouf for example, he cost us half of what Rafa has to spend. There is a new guy at the helm, give him some more monetary support

Sources say he has 20 mill, plus the $$ he gets when he sells some players.

More like 35 mill to spend plus cash from sales still not a substancial amount for the type of world class players that we want

I thought we would have 35-40...
The money from CL + what he would have had anyway + money from diouf (already gone) and some others...

Rafa always keeps his cards close to his chest.  He's a Spanish gentleman who goes about his business in a quiet and efficient way.  Don't worry, we'll have some top players brought in this summer.

I'd rather have Alonso/Hyppia-types (i.e. great players but not huge names) than Figo-types (huge names but no longer great players).

El Stinger: no offence meant mate, but you should write for a tabloid!

There is absolutely zero source to your story other than the "OS" calling it a "frustrating summer"!!  :D

There is absolutely nothing, nothing what so ever in this only a cloud of smoke.
