Don't know if he was the only white artist they ever signed but a bloke called Johnny Powers was the first white bloke they signed in 1960.

Thanks to you both.

I got R Dean Taylor off my mate but will now shock him with Bobs artists.

By the way my question was

Name the German Bass player partly responsible for the Beatle haircut and the 60's band he was part of.

Thanks again dudes

I thought the german photographer Astrid Kirchner (?) and her boyfriend the then Beatles bass player Stu Sutcliffe were responsible for the "haircut"

Hmmm ? I remember reading an article by Astrid and in it she said . "One day I combed Stuarts hair forward (into the mop top style) the others laughed ,but a few days later they started combing theirs the same way."

She wore it that way plus this guy

He later played session bass with Lennon and Ringo on solo albums

Well done Woof you got it

And yes Backbeat was a great film. I was living in Lark Lane at the time.
In fact Steve Kindred from Cwmbran who now lives in Liverpool has my bacbeat CD, oh well good bloke Steve  :D

On the Ringo Starr solo album called RINGO funnily enough, Klaus plays the fuzz bass on one of the tracks.  Im a bass player and was always intrigued by fuzz bass

Its the album with RINGO in lights and a cartoon Ringo in dubgarees on the cover.

Theres a brilliant Lennon song on it called I am the greatest, worth getting the album just for that song.  George and Paul also wrote songs for it, Very underestimated album
