Ive just read on TV that we have to submit our players by the 6th of July, ffs 3 weeks to get new players, and I am fuming at the last sentance on TV about rafa being asked about going to a bigger club. :censored:

hate the media and the offal is pathetic for putting that sentance on it.

Is it just me or has it been a bit quiet lately rumour front wise?

Seriously though, starting our season next month has thrown a big spanner in the works to put it mildly so we need some strength in depth big time.
Here's who I'd like to see next season:

Reina - about £8m looks a done deal to me.
Evra - £4m
Milito & maybe Upson - probably £6m each although we have been linked with another Spaniard??
Hargreaves - £4m a snip at that price and he's English as well,verstile too
Zenden - free could do a good job versatility wise
Figo - free potentially a very good signing if Rafa could work his magic but NOT at £70k a week
Dirk Kiyt - £8-10m (Peter Crouch - NO WAY!!!!!)

Getting Joaquin would be nice but we'd probably have to offload the likes of Baros,Dudek,Diao,cheyrou and Spit (hopefully a certain new manager at Lyon may take one or two of them off our hands!!

Yer its been very quite on the rumour front, but now Rick parrys back from barbados I expect to see some action this week, Reina looks set to sign this week, and because there is still internationals being played I expect thats why its been a bit quiet also, hopefully some of them on internation duty will be signing for us.
And they have hardly had holidays, I am very dissapointed that the difference between 3 points is going to cost us 6 more games maybe? and we will have to cancel some friendlies, and the tour in Japan, plus they will have there holidays cut 1 month short.

Michael Ballack anybody ?

Is it just me who is interested in this player

And what happened to rumours regarding Rosicksy or is he no longer flavour of the fans month ?

The bottom line is we don't really know who is coming to Liverpool with the exception of Reina.

Malbranque ? whatever happened to rumours on him as well

i think our next target will mostlikely be Zidane, he has been out of favour ever since the new coach came in. He has said he wants to leave. Sounds like another flavour to me.

yep Dlaglish i agree...defo ballack as i said in the rumour thread again agreeing with you, but people just said we have players there or gerrard and him are too alike.

Look we need quality in numbers in ALL positions, if there is a surplus of qulaity in certain positions then so be it - I would rather that than not enough players full stop, let alone not enough quality ones !!

How much d'ya reckon Ballack would cost? 15 million at least i imagine.

Great player though, attacking, passing, aggressive, scoring, dead balls, got it all to be honest - bit arrogant though (or so i hear!). Anyways haved kept an eye on him since he f.ucked us up when at Leverkusen, he was awesome.

It's not really happened for Ballack at Bayern Munich and your right, the rumours are he is a bit awkward but sometimes that is what you get with players who are quality and anyway Benitez i experienced at dealing with difficult players.

The facts are to be able to compete with Chelsea we do need quality players in DEPTH. At present we have IMO 3 WORLD class players (Alonso , Gerrard and Carragher). We need at least another 3 and Ballack is in that category.

LFC (Austrailian LFC fan on here) will laugh when he sees this cos I've banged on about Ballack for ages but as the old saying goes in football..."form is temporary but CLASS is permanent "

Absolutely.

You know i was also gonna say (like you have!) that top players always seem to have an edge, ego, or arrogance about them - i am talking about TOP/WORLD CLASS players here not just good/great ones, but i thought that people might just start a debate on that, as we could rage on all nite bout that, as I;m sure there are many TOP players around that are not like that.

But yea Ballack and the like, thats what i like to hear, the best thing about him for me is that his name is not banded around like the likes of a Zidane or Ronaldo etc; and this just (for me!) adds to him in some mysterious type of way that i cant explain.

But how much d'ya think he would cost though dalglish??

When you consider it cost around £10 million to get Alonso I'd say about the same for Ballack.

If we get Circa £8 Milion for Baros and with the decreased wage bill for expensive mistakes such as Cheyrou, Diouff and Daio and the players who have released it's not difficult to justify the cost of a player of his ability.

Agree but i would even going as high as 15 Mill for him, thats how highly i rate him, but i dont see 10Mill for a couple of reasons, firstly being Euro Champs, sort of makes us flavour of the month and teams ae going to try and be, well lets just say smart!!
Also because he is at Bayern, and i think because they would see selling to us (a european rival) as risky, as they'd be clearly strengthenign us.

But if it was 10Mill i would snatch there hand off, quicker than i take off my girlfriends g-string :cool:

I don't actually take as much interest in rumours as this as i prefer to deal in facts but its close season and there's no "next game" to look forward to for a while but I've banged on about Ballack for about 2 years now and would be delighted if we got him.

Well as its now the off season the most important thing about Ballack really is.........what is his rating on Championship manager
