Just got back after attending the funeral of a cousin of my mothers.

Derek Crispin was 38 years old, and died tragically the weekend before last. It's no age to die.

Derek was an avid reds fan, and to honour his love of LFC, mourners where invited to wear red instead of black and LFC scarves where possible. Even his brother and father, staunch Evertonians donned the red of Liverpool and scarves "for one day only" in his memory.

A stirring rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone brought a tear to almost everyones eye in the crematorium as eveyone, blue and red joined in.

RIP Derek

It's sad that death is often the only time that red and blue can be brought together.

RIP Derek, YNWA.

I wouldnt call it sad, its great that this rivalry means nothing when it means respecting the passed.

RIP Derek from an avid blue.

RIP Derek from an avid blue.

What I mean is that it is sad that it sometimes takes a tragic death, like Derek, or Hillsborough for instance to bring people together though.
