Right here's the story. A friend of mine recorded the cl final on dvd on his recordable dvd player and gave the disc to me to copy for myself and then give back to him. But here's the problem I put it on my pc and try to watch it first and it says it cannot be opened and it doesn't work on the dvd players either. So I can't copy it and I can't even watch it.

Any Ideas People? ?????

Either the disk is faulty or your drives cannot read DVD-Rs or whatever format he used.

If it won't open on your machine it won't open.

He can use it on his DVD player, yes?

Some standalone DVD players will only play DVD format ie. not VCD, SVCD etc. whereas others do - I imagine that is why you cant play it on yours.

In terms of the computer - 1) Do you have a DVD player on your PC (I presume you do :) ) 2) What software are you using to play it - as mentioned it may require an extra codec - check with your mate. 3) Check videohelp.com.

I'm assuming that you have a DVD rom on your computer, but in order to play anything you need the DivX codec.

You can get the codec and the player at

By the way I havent got a dvd recorder myself so i was wondering if they have a hardrive on or something because when I look at the properties of the disc form my computer it says 0 bytes etc so I don't think it has anything on (and yer it is the right disc). btw thanks but the codec didn't work.
