I didn´t explained this before the Final, cause here in Spain we have the believing that if you explain a wish, a dream or something like that, this wish or dream won´t become true.
But now, and seeing the result I can explain it  wink.gif

The weekend I was in Liverpool (14-15 May), I had a supper with Morientes and Luis in Luis´s house.
After a few minutes we started to talk about the Final. While smiling Luis said:

-I asked to the Finals Master (Morientes) and now I know which things I have to look the day of the Final, to know if we will be Champions.

Morientes started to laugh, and then he explained it:

-Well, at least this things were in his way, the finals I won (3 with Real Madrid) and there weren´t in the final I have lost (last year with Monaco).
-What kind of things? – I asked him.
-First all, your own supporters have to be on the left.
-On the left?
-Yes. While the players come into the pitch walking, if you (a player) look at the left hand, and your supporters are in this side, you have the 50% of the final won.
-And the other 50%? – I asked to Morientes.
-Nobody of your own team, can touch the Cup before the match. When the teams are coming into the field, the Cup is in the middle of both teams. You cannot touch the Cup in this moment. And you must pray, for anyone of the other team, touch it. Hahahaha.

All we were laughing, and not taking this seriously, but I was interested...

-And both things were right on your finals with Real Madrid?
-Yes. Both. First I look when I´m going to play a final is where my supporters are.Heheheh.

I can remember he said something like that when LFC were going to play the Final of the Carling Cup: “Look at me on the warm up, if I´m smiling, then I have good sensations and we will have a lot of chances of winning the cup”. I think now we know what would make him smile .

-On the 3 finals with Real, our supporters  were on left. And nobody of my team touched the Cup. I can remember this in the Final against Valencia. – then Morientes continued explaining – When we were coming walking into the pitch for the final, Redondo (the argentinian player) who is a very superstitious player, was whispering: “touch it, touch it, touch it” like praying someone in Valencia´s team touch the Cup. I think it was Gerard (now playing for Barcelona) who touched the Cup, and then Redondo who was very excited after seeing this, continued whispering “they touched it, they touched it, it´s for us (the cup), it´s for us..” ahahahhaa.
Last year, with Monaco, when I came into field for the warm up, and I look at the left.....I saw Oporto supporters...”Oh my god” I thought...
While coming into the pitch for the match, a mate of my team, touched the Cup. I said “NO!!”, but it was too late...Result: Monaco 0-3 Oporto.

Luis and Morientes explained exactly this to all players on LFC:

“Look at the left hand, if you see our supporters there, we will have a lot of possibilities of win”
“And most important, DON´T TOUCH THE CUP BEFORE THE MATCH”

When I started to see the transmission last Wednesday, and saw the LFC supporters on the left I felt excited.
But when I saw a Milan player (can´t remember who was), touching the Cup before the final and nobody of LFC touching it, then I was confident we will win the Cup. Cheesy

After the first half, who would say we will win, but...the destiny was wrote  Cool Cool

I haven´t had time to speak a lot with Luis, just a little bit, but he explained me, that in the supper after the Final, all teammates, remembering the advices of Morientes and Luis, were shouting “IT WORKED, IT WORKED !!”
