Fans were singing HOULIERS name near the end of the game.
NOT ME i'd be a hipacrit if i did.
I just hope these fans cheering him dont start complaining about him. COZ they are backing him must want want him to stay.

I dont and want him gone as soon as possible

tw@ and man utd yes it took him years.
u really think we should keep houlier just in case he turns out to be as successful as tw@ at Man UTD. I'd sooner not take the chance as i havent seen anything 2 indicate things will change.

Tw@ did have 1 thing going 4 him which we dont.
Introducing talent from the ranks
If we have this i havent seen much evidence of it as all the young players who get in out team are from france.most arnt much good

It made me sick to hear a minority of supporters singing Houlliers name.Do they really want the bloke in charge next season? Or is it some kind of blind misguided loyalty to the man in charge? Houllier is an inept manager who is dragging liverpool down slowly but surely. The blind men who sang his name last night are still loyal to him but the rest of us are loyal to something else, something bigger.Liverpool football club.

You can call it blind misguided loyalty Greenred, but you can also call it loyalty to the club. At the end of the day the fans who sing his name are giving him support because they want the manager, the players and the club to succeed. I would have been sickened to hear booing or see a protest last night because Liverpool fans are better than that, we can act as the 12th man on the terraces. Leave the witchhunt to the media and to the radio phone-ins , i believe we have the duty to support the manager as much as we have the right to be critical of the team when we underperform that doesn't make us hypocrites that just shows we care about our team. I was proud to sing Houlliers name on the kop last night and i was delighted he acknowledged the fans support. . .the fans last night kept their side of the bargain after a frustrating 1st half, the support was magnificent even though we had to wait over an hour for the breakthrough, the performances need to be much better no doubt but the supporters cannot sack a manager only the board can do that!

It was nothing personal Rob,we all want liverpool to succeed despite everything. But I really believe that we will never win the title with GH as manager and that he has overstayed his welcome. This season was his last chance and he has blown it big time.He insulted us all months ago when he claimed fourth place was a reasonable objective,he should have been sacked on the spot for that alone.what a terrible goal for lfc,4th in the league.Shankly would have resigned in Houlliers position,so would Paisley.Even poor old Roy Evans did the decent thing for the sake of the club. All three great football men,all great liverpool fc men.And that is what depresses me most about GH.His sheer arrogance. He had his chance,he blew it,the team is a pale shadow of two years ago,but he refuses to accept it. We are turning the corner,we were unlucky, our players are injured.None of it is true is it? Liverpool supporters know what GH doesnt, that we are just not good enough,at least not with him as manager. But he in his arrogance refuses to accept the truth. If he loves liverpool like he says than he would walk away like Roy Evans did.I would admire him if he did that,it takes a brave man to admit failure. But GH is not a brave man. That is why I was upset to hear supporters singing his name last night. It justifies his position,he thinks he is right and those few thousand on the Kop know he is right, never mind the others, they know nothing. As I said, nothing personal toward any Houllier supporters. But I am worried that the egotistical Frenchman will still be in charge next season, and that would be a disaster for Liverpool football club.

It was stupid for our fans to cheer Houlliers name just because we won the first leg of a UEFA Cup game against a Bulgarian side, no disrespect to Levski Sofia but our players are on ten times the wages they are on and are a lot more experienced.  By these fans cheering Houlliers name they could be putting more stupid ideas in the boards head like keeping Houllier on for another season?
I ask these section of fans to stop being fickle, either you want him in or you dont?
Thats why the board probably dont listen to the fans much it could be that they think we are fickle.
Whether we won or not last night my verdict on Houllier will remain the same.

Personally my belief as a supporter is to give support to the team and the manager, i believe in the ability this team has and i believe in Houllier's will for his side to be successful although admittedly i doubt his methods and question his signings for the club. I'm not for one minute trying to put any gloss on the dismal inconsistency we've suffered this season and Houllier has to be held primarily responsible for just that, but no change in leadership will be made before the end of the season. Whether we qualify for the champs league or not the board will have a decision to make in the summer, the focus being whether finishing 4th or not is acceptable for a club this size. Obviously the answer is no!  The next decision will be do they have faith in Gerard Houllier to make us into a championship challenging team as he did 2 seasons ago, will they be brave enough to ignite a new era? ultimately the board will have to make strong decisions! I do think Houllier is nearer the end than the start of his time in charge but i will never protest, boo, sign poxy petitions or write graffiti because Gerard deserves some respect for what he has achieved at the club.
Every fan has their own opinions and every fan knows that this season and last season we have seriously declined but the supporters will always offer support i'm sure as they did last night, THAT IS NOT BEING FICKLE!

I respect your opinion Rob,and I respect your right to express it. I think your wrong though to support Houllier if you dont see him as the long term solution to Liverpools problems.Do you see him here in five years? If you do then go ahead and support him.If you dont then you should side with the rest of us and push for his removal at the end of the season.

Correct Greenred.

And Rob if you think Houllier is approaching his end at the club why are you still supporting him, I dont think Houllier can hack that final step I think he could still do a job at a mid table club in the Premiership such as Tottenham or Aston Villa but I dont think he has what it takes to win the Title(Liverpools only priority) and he has admitted it himself.
I was a supporter of Houllier saying after last seasons fiasco to give him one last chance to get it right, he has had that chance now it is time to go.
4th place isnt good enough for Liverpool, it would have been considered a disaster 4 seasons ago so in my eyes 4th place is a disaster now.
1st and only 1st is a good season for Liverpool.
