Even the 1970 brazil side could have.... - Maradona's own words

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Look, I never doubted his skill as a footballer, but thats like saying we love Rose West's paintings even though shes a murdering slag. I don't have to a*se-kiss the to*ser just cos he was gifted. If we were only interested in skill, then we'd all support fricking individuals. Personality counts for a lot, and no matter how much pressure your under, cheating is wrong. And if I'm a sh*t, Zara, just for stating an opinion, then your a milandering baboons bottom rash, oozing puss and maggotts with startling regularity.:p

Remember that she is a lady Lando.

Be the man and leave her alone. Both of you are right.

Maradona was absolutely incredible. But his failings as a human being show that he is not "god" like some of his fans call him.

I understand that people really dislike him because of his addictions.

But Lando, would you feel the same way if he were a Liverpool legend like he could have been?

I remember specifically a year ago, Maradona said, "Yes, I am a Liverpudlian".

Politics and such make him say certain things. I bet he was a guest of Milan at the CL, so he had to say what he did before the game.

Whatever the matter, we must always remember that we fall short of the high standard that we often impose on others.

Love and Peace!!!!!!!
We just won the F@@kin' cup!

I personally can't confirm that he was there at the behest of Milan, but I think that Berlusconi (the modern day Lorenzo de Medici) had something to do with it.

.. hey I apologise for calling u a sh*t.. but as you can tell from my Avatar .. this man for me was a grt footballer first.. comparing him to a murderer llike rose west  :glare: is rather out of sinct don't you think ..

.. whom ever he was supporting.. that's his choice.. but slagging him of for that is rather uncalled for ...  Platini had to apologise to Moores at full time, after telling him at half time.. " it's damage limitation in the 2nd half Mr Moores"..  :D

.. it's a grt week so lets enjoy .. Gosh I must be in a good mood, there's been no war   :)

.. In maradona's own words:

Layered over Wednesday's Champions League final was a patina of ever-twisting drama so intense you feared for anyone with a weak heart. 'Liverpool showed that miracles exist,' said Diego Maradona, who knew how fortunate he was to have been there to see it. 'They proved that football is the most beautiful sport of them all. No wonder so many people around the world want to play it and watch it.'

.. Maradonna again..

Diego Maradona : 'Liverpool showed that miracles exist. They proved that football is the most beautiful sport of them all. After this game, my English team is going to be Liverpool. I came across some of their fans beforehand and they told me they were going to win, but that they would be made to suffer. It's just the way it happened. Liverpool are the best team in the world for what they have done in this Champions League. They deserved the Cup.'

Fair enough then. I apologise for calling zara a baboons bottom, etc!!! I know many people judge others by their own standards. I also read something considerably different to the quotes above. Oh well, we all make mistakes!

Maradonna is a very sad and pathetic character, I pity him I truly do. Everyone he knew sponged off him and he threw away the greatest talent the world has ever seen. To have such a gift and to throw it away is a crying shame.
Nonetheless it is nice to hear him appreciate our success, and he has a point...Liverpool are the greatest team in the world!!

.. Threw away his talent ? .. are you for real.. he became world champion and singly dominated the Mexico world cup.. he was awesome ..no... playing dream football and he went on to win the top honours and accolades.. personal decline and other issues are sad.. but at the peak of his talent, his talent delivered..... he was simply the best...

DIEGO IS AN ADOPTED SCOUSER
Steve Hunter 29 May 2005

Football legend Diego Maradona was so enthralled with the passion of the Liverpool fans and the incredible comeback in Istanbul that he has now become an adopted scouser and is a Liverpool fan.
Maradona, one of the greatest players the world has ever seen, says Liverpool were a credit to football and gave a perfect example of what the game is all about.

Maradona was in Istanbul working for Argentine TV and said: "The English club proved that miracles really do exist. I've now made Liverpool my English team. They showed that football is the most beautiful sport of all.

"You knew they could defend but the team showed they could play too and wrote a page in the history books. The match will last forever.

"The Liverpool supporters didn't let me go to sleep the night before, there were 10 of them to every three Milan supporters. They showed their unconditional support at half-time when they were losing 3-0 and still they didn't stop singing."

Looks like having Diego as my Avatar .. has had a small part to play in converting him to being a Liverpool Fan.. :D  awwww I'm sooooo happy ..  :)

Dalglish for me,but then again it would be.Hated Maradona after the "Hand of god" incident.I agree his second goal was class in that game, but then again John Barnes goal against Brazil was equally as good.
