I am liverpool fan and i have to say thanks to Gerrard Houllier for even getting us there in the first place.Plus i have to thank the players and Rafa but Gerrard Hoillier is the man for gettin us there.

to be fair, all but 2 of the players from the final were signed by houllier so we can give him a little credit for that. apparently he went down to the dressing room after the game to personally congratulate everyone. i'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that...

.. the team is now picked, improved and tactically influenced by el Benitez .. and he should be thanked for making these players believe, when all looked doomed.. each to a man.. put in a perfomrance of a lifetime......

Houllier spends 150+mill and gets usinto cl after 6 seasons. Rafa spends 21 mill and wins us the tournament

Houllier brought these guys in...but Alonso is one of the key guys to change everything. Rafa is one of the best tacticians in the world and i think he is the guy to thank!

He took us so far ,now Benitez will do the rest.

No one is denying that, however GH does deserve a small dollop of credit for being bale to spot some good talents, and up until the last few seasons of his reign he did well with the side. The last two seasons he signed some real flops and this was major reason in his demise.

However he did sign a lot of class players in Sami, Finnan, Cisse, Riise, Baros and Hamann. All of these lads have been either reasonably or very successful with us. Houllier is a good manager, no one can deny that, it's just Rafa is that much better.

Jeopendo.. dont thannk GH. Dont take away Rafa's credit and spllit it and give some to GH. Let Rafa enjoy it .

GH might have bought all the players. But Rafa played them at the right time and right way. These players are inspired by Rafa They want to play for Liv under him.

He is a good manager under a limited resources. He did it in his way. Dont take it away from, him.

What ever GH did and won was given due recognition already.

I liked Houllier, yeah he laid some great foundations but please lets move on now.
