Even the 1970 brazil side could have.... - Maradona's own words

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

"Even the Brazil team that won the 1970 World Cup could NOT (I REPEAT "NOT" - Policy) have staged a comeback with Milan leading 3-0," said the former Napoli star.

Sorry for the typo.

Mourinho was customizing his flashy blue racing car -- applying the finishing touches of go-faster stripes, aerodynamic spoilers and a fat f@ck you exhaust -- while on his red car, Benitez was trying to glue together a broken chassis, repair bodywork and replace burst tyres.

Maradonna was trully a great player with superb sublime skills, but with a tinge of a tendency to bend the rules and cheat. What he did in single handedly inspiring his team to 2 successive Worpd Cup Finals matches is an achievement which may not be repeated again. Pele, brilliant as he is, had a very formidable squad around him, Maradonna had to do with less.

His demise into a drug-addicted person is really sad but then, we don't know the kind of pressures a person like him endures so passing judgement on a simplistic view is not really appropriate.

His comments may be a dig at Brazillians, given their animousity, but is welcome from one of the greats of football.

Imagine the women he has had. Pity he had to staple his stomach so he wouldn't choke when he slept (being morbidly obese - BMI of 45 I think is what he had - means he probably had lots of sleep apnea).

Women throwing themselves at him so much that he probably has a thousand children.

I absolutely idolize him.

Kidding aside, imagine what he would have been without football.

But Zarababe, you are absolutely correct in thinking he is fabulous.

..p*ss of you sh*t..

.. Maradonna was the greatest footballer.. if you are truly a football fan you would recognise that.. if you were but a little sprog at the time.. then don't be criticising his life or antics of the field .. for heroes have troubles too..

.. I honour the memory of a man who played the beautiful game "beautifully", sublimely and made so many see heaven.. such was his affect and level of skill..

.. spot on Policy.. he was awesome.. scrap books and vidoes galore I have of him.. no-one has since come close to him.. though Ronaldhinio, against Chelski aroused in me for the first time, the excitement and level of expetation, I felt when Maradonna played  :)

Some of you, of more advanced years may know that Maradona wanted to sign for Liverpool, only the fact that Argentina was still at odds with the UK over the Falklands War of 1982 stopped him.
If you think im talking :censored: just read his book.

"If it was not for the Falklands War i would have signed for Liverpool"..... Diego Maradona

surpassed by maldini? you`re joking aren`t you mate?
pele was probably a better goalscorer but NO ONE had more control of a football than him. in fact he had more control over a golf ball than zidane has over a football and thats not a throwaway comment.
the man was kicked to death every time he played back in those days (especially in spain) and if he had played with the protection flair players get these days he would have been, well, unbelievable.
he has gone off the rails for whatever reason and thats his business - but as a footballer he was the best i`ve ever seen.
