Haman. dudek, smicer - Can they stay?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby African-red » Thu May 26, 2005 8:11 am

There is no way anyone can describe what I feel. What a wonderful experience from the players. They gave me a piece of joy even miles away in Africa. I am red this morning and I was red since seeing L'pool for the first time on TV. I was repaid back yesterday for my support for the club.

How can we let these men go? They shined when we needed them most, Please Rafa let them stay. What a manager in Rafa? Who's the special one now?

Let's enjoy this dawn.

Look at the difference Hamann made when he came on!  He lets Stevie G roam free, and look how much better HE played in the second half!  It would be a mistake to let Didi go.

Smicer is definitely going and Dudek will probably be replaced, because we've got two young keepers and may even buy another with more experience in the summer.

I think Smicer will go, he needs to go somewhere where he can play the last -23 years of his career and it ain't gonna happen at Liverpool. I like him, I like his attitude and he has done OK in fits and starts and last night he played the best game of his life but he will go.
As for Hamman and Dudek, I hope they both stay. Dudek and Carson and Kirkland all fighting for the No 1 spot helping eachother improve, would be a good situation. Assuming one of those three does leave it may be Kirkland, his injury situation makes him very hard to keep.
Hope Hamman stays too, he is just immense. Not saying he'll start every game next year, he won't, but in some situations, when a certain something is needed he is the man to bring off the bench to hold the midfield and to free gerrard and Xabi....just like last night in fact!!!

we will really need to keep hamman.. if we dun keep him... at least get someone even better than him.. have u notice... alonso's defending isn't as physical as hamman.. that's wat i am afraid of.. alonso and gerrard positioning is not very gd in the midfield.. alonso is not very effective protecting the back 4.. if hamman leaves, i am quite afraid of the defensive aspect in the protect of back 4..

Hamann should stay.

As for Smicer, well it's about time he produced something after all these years but one good performance should not make us let him stay on and continue to underachieve.

Dudek - I don't mind if he stays but we need a more reliable 'keeper and if we get one, Dudek should be second choice.

The biggest dissappointment of all is Kewell - way low on mental strength and the willingness department despite being very high in the talent department. Have we been patient enough with him? I say yes and he should go.

I'd read in the news reports that the Liverpool fans in the stadium booed him when he came off as most are totally dissatisfied with him, and so am I.

Hamann - should stay

Smicer - has had his time here but now it's time for him to leave.

Dudek - Keep him as second choice and sell Kirkland.

Kewell - Bin him off, he's getting paid too much for doing too little.

Baros - Not good enough and doesn't have the right attitude.

Hamann should be offerred the two year deal he wants. To lose him to Bolton would be terrible.

Dudek (a hero last night) and Smicer (great goal) should both leave on a high with great memories.

All the way from Australia, i feel the same way. I am staying at a residential colleuge at Melbourne University, about 25 people were in the tv room at 4:30am (i got there at 4 for a good seat), about 18 of them were AC Milan fans, of the 4 Liverpool fans (they were not real red fans) i was the only one that stayed for the second half.

I was resilliant, even with all those Milan fans relentless comments, i sensed that we werent finished yet.......

It just made it all the more sweet   :D

Posted this to another thread but its worth saying again. We would be mad to let Didi go. He has been a fantastic servant to the club. Not just last night. It would be a great shame to see him go to a club like Bolton. Give him a 2 year contract I say, and so should everyone else.

i was in school at the time, and could only see the game on match stats. I know kewell was subbed off at about the 23 minute mark, but what happened to him? What could of made him come off in the biggest game of his life?
