I wouldn't mind seeing John O'Shea join us.  I reckon he'd be a good replacement for Hamann.

baros speaks of other clubs interest:
from bbc sport:
Liverpool striker Milan Baros says Wednesday's Champions League final could be his last game for the club.
The 23-year-old Czech forward has been upset at his lack of playing time and admits his agent, Pavel Paska, will be in talks with other clubs over a move.

"I have had several offers from other clubs and it is now the job of my agent Pavel to talk to them," Baros was quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror.

"Maybe I'll leave Anfield, maybe I'll stay. We'll listen to what is offered."

Forward Baros, who moved to Anfield in December 2001, has made 44 appearances for the Reds this season but has often failed to finish the game, and he has criticised Reds boss Rafael Benitez.

He faces a battle to keep his place in Istanbul from fit-again striker Djibril Cisse.

Baros added: "I am calm about my future and I can concentrate fully on the Champions League final.

If Baros has said what he's reported to have said on the eve of the European Cup final, I'd ship him back to Merseyside!

From Bob
Have your say on 606

"But my main aim at the moment is that I can keep my place ahead of Cisse for the final against Milan, and I will do my best to make that happen."

Should Djibril Cisse play it will cap a remarkable comeback for a player who was expected to miss the season after breaking his leg in two places last October.

There were suggestions he may never play again and Cisse even admitted that he may have had to have the leg amputated if medical staff had not acted so quickly.

But the French international said: "Some people said my career was finished. It was hard to hear that because I knew I could play again.

"I was sure I would play again and score goals, and felt I could play again this season.

"My leg was so sore that sometimes I couldn't stand up. It was frustrating and it was the worst period of my career."

Cisse believes Milan's overconfidence could see Reds boss Rafael Benitez lead them to upsetting the Italians in Istanbul.

"Milan think it will be easy but maybe it's a mistake by them. I say it will not be easy. It will be a hard game for them," he added.

I know a lot of Spanish people want Liverpool to lift the trophy

Antonio Nunez

"Milan have two legs and two arms like us, so we won't be overwhelmed by the names. We can't afford to be afraid of their stars and we must concentrate on what we can do.

"Rafa is one of the best coaches I have had. He's very clever and knows how to adapt to different systems. With Guy Roux he is one of the best coaches I have worked under.

"I think he is on the same level and maybe better than (Jose) Mourinho. He is more humble. Sometimes it is good to be confident but not too much.

"Sometimes a coach needs to shout, and he knows when to be nice and when to be strong. He gives players just what they need."

Liverpool winger Antonio Nunez believes the Spanish contingent in their side mean the fans back home will be cheering them on to glory.

Nunez said: "When my friends call they say that we are the only Spanish team in Europe.

"They are happy for me and give me a lot of support.

"They feel this is their team, now Barcelona and Real Madrid have been knocked out.

"I know a lot of Spanish people want Liverpool to lift the trophy."

Rodriguez Vicente is his actual name, he is quality and i dont think would cost the earth. Although he plays left wing/midfield it would be interesting to know whether he could play the right wing, as thats the position we are weaker in.
Riise has done a job on the left and there's also the slight possibility that Kewell might get his act together (that is only SLIGHT) but on the right we have been playin Garcia and Nunez....Nunez has really stuglled and Garcia drifts inside too much to play out wide regulary. Would love Joaquin but we wont have the money Betis want.

Riise is too static to play on the wing for another season, his crossing is poor and the fact that he doesn't have the ability to use his right foot ever proves that we need a natural and quality winger.

Luis Garcia imo has got his spot as a right winger despite the fact he isn't, he's scored 13 goals playing as a winger but then again he might just play behind the striker next season which is his natural position. Either way we need a quality winger who can deliever good crosses as we haven't used the superb aerial ability of Morientes as our advantage yet.

Agree we need a natural winger A.B and Jonny Riise will probably resume at Full-back next season but your being hard on the lad and not giving him much credit.

Riise's played a blinder this season. We already know he's tenacious, works hard and likes to put in a tackle. But he's shown a lot more than that this season - He makes intelligent runs, he's direct, has beaten umpteen players with the ball at his feet, his ball retention has been excellent, fantastic engine to get up and down the pitch (has any player in a red shirt run further than Riise this season?) and his goal return is back where it should be.

I applaud Riise for his tremendous season I really do however when you look at the fact that we have a player who'se great in the air [Morientes] then we need to take advantage of that however we haven't done that thus far as Riise isn't a winger.

In summer '87 John Aldridge had completed his first few months at Liverpool and complained to Kenny Dalglish that a the team weren'yt playing to his strengths.  Dalglish told him not to worry that he was going to buy a winger.  He duly obliged, bought John Barnes and the rest is history.  Morientes is like Aldo in that he thrives on godd quality crosses.  Hopefully, Rafa will find somebody to feed Morientes for next season.

I disagree with that, Riise's crossing is in general great, Morientes is often not in the right areas to make use of them.
I have lost count of the amount of times that a good cross has been sent in between centre backs and there is nobody there to put it away.
Fernando is great in the air but often in too deep a position to make crosses count.
Riise might not be the best in the world, but he is FAR better on the left than what we have on the right.
Garcia should be in behind the strikers, he has scored vital goals on the right, but drifts inside too much.
My opinion of a winger might be different to yours cos i prefer them to stay out wide most of the time to stretch the opposition...Riise does that well.

I think that Riise's balls into the box have been first class we just need someone to get to the line &  get then into the area from the right SWP would be my choice.

Here in Greece, Stelios Giannakopoulos (Bolton) in a sport show last night confirmed that LFC is interested for him

What do you think about him? Ibelieve that he is the best greek player this time, but I cant see why Rafa wants him in our squad. Maybe as a second team player? I dont know...
