The thing about Crouch is you wouldn’t expect him to get 20 goals a season, the other players are solely goal scorers. He is the sort of 'target man' that Rafa likes, he is able to play with his back to goal and is good on the ball.
Now I'm not saying that Crouch is a great player, but we need a striker to provide backup to Cisse and Morientes, and buying British and buying from the Premiership is always the first port of call. If we get him for less than 5MIL he would be worth getting.
I think I'd be happier if we looked into signing Dean Ashdon from Norwich rather than any of those guys. I really think he has the potential to become a quality premiership player. Anyone have any views?
